Is the most powerful Court system in the Judicial Branch
Duty:
They hear cases dealing with upholding the U.S. Constitution

4. Original Jurisdiction
The Supreme Court has Original Jurisdiction in 2 cases:
Disputes from foreign countries
Disputes between states.

5. Supreme Courts make up Made up of: 8 associate justices
1 Chief Justice

7. Who selects the Justices???
The president appoints Supreme Court Justices, with the approval of the Senate
The Senate typically gives the president advise in appointing a new justice

8. Judicial Review
The Court can review any federal, state, or local law or action to see if it is constitutional

9. John Marshal Established:
The Constitution is the supreme law of the land
If there is a conflict between the Constitution and any other law, the Constitution wins
The Judicial Branch has a duty to uphold the Constitution
