The Meditation:
PASTOR: None of us, Lord, want to admit prejudice. We’ve exposed it for the nasty social monster it is! But you push us to examine our hearts.
PEOPLE: Forgive us for the attitudes that we sometimes carry into encounters with the unsaved before the discussions even begin, for prejudices that keep us on the sidelines watching like the disciples, rather than coming near the well and engaging the hurting in a life- giving conversation.
PASTOR: “You,” she must have been shocked, “… you are willing to drink from my dipper? You know, don’t you, that I am a Samaritan?” Underneath, a revolution is beginning – “I have never met an Israelite like you. You are kind, non-condemning, gracious, accepting, loving.”
PEOPLE: Lord, help me to start the same kind of revolution today with some non-Christian, one that is very different than me.

The Profile …
The Chenchu are hunters and gatherers who depend on nature for nearly all of their food supply.
Their “permanent” villages have an average of seven houses and are occupied for only 10 to 15 years-unless disease ravages the community and causes a massive number of deaths.
Today, they are virtually all Hindu, worshiping millions of gods and goddesses. Chenchus worship Bhagwan Taru who they believe lives in the sky and looks after Chenchus in all their doings. They also worship Garelamai Sama, the goddess of forest. They believe she protects them from any danger.

Prayer …
Missions agencies focusing on the Chenchu have had very little success. Prayer is the first step toward reaching these precious people with the Good News.
Ask the Lord to save key leaders among the Chenchu who will boldly declare the Gospel.
Alcoholism is a serious problem for many of the Chenchu. Their addictions allow them to temporarily escape from the reality of their difficult lives. Pray that they need to find the permanent source of peace.
Ask God to raise up prayer teams who will begin faithfully interceding for the Chenchu.
Ask the Lord to send laborers to India to share the hope, peace, and love of Jesus Christ with the Chenchu.
