Form of government in which a king or queen acts as Head of State. legislation resides with an elected Parliament, not with the Monarch .

4 Sovereign The Leader of a nation or commonwealth. Queen Elizabeth II
Ruler of England, Canada, and Australia In places other than England, it is more of a ceremonial title

5 Governor General David Johnston Is the federal representative of Queen Elizabeth II in Canada. Has political power, but is again more ceremonial. Appointed by the Queen for as long as the Queen likes

6 Executive Branch Prime Minister
Justin Trudeau (second youngest and son of former prime minister Pierre Trudeau) Leading member of the Parliament and leads the law making bodies in laws, legislation, and policies. Appointed by the Majority Party in Canada

7 Cabinet Members Appointed by the Prime Minister to help guide his decision making. They are removed or replaced when the Prime Minister changes.

8 Judicial Branch Court Systems of the Government.
Members are appointed, and keep position until the age of 75. Highest court is the Supreme Court Provincial Courts are throughout the country (Similar to State Courts in the United States) Make decisions for the betterment of the citizens

9 Legislative Branch Senate and House of Commons
Senate- Upper House where members are appointed by the Prime Minister. Write, change, and create all Tax Laws for Canada

10 House of Commons Members are elected by commoners (the people) and can write or approve laws presented by the Senate. Can not write, change or deal with Tax laws. With the Senate, this makes up Parliament
