Using the broad topic in that box, have them think of or quickly look up a computing innovation for that topic; use turn and talk to brainstorm ideas and allow time for everyone to get an idea to share.
Go around the room to share about themselves, their school, their innovation
Provide 4x6 notecards or use a white board to have everyone add their innovation to an idea wall (this will be referenced throughout the week and especially on day 3 when going over the Explore PT in depth
Create Innovation chart paper while their share 

Share a computing innovation in category – name/type of innovation, what it impacts (society, economy, culture) and one benefit from its use

6. Start a Brainstorming List:
Turn to page XX in your abstractionJournal and begin a list of computing innovations
We will add to this list as we continue to explore and discuss; later you will begin projects on innovations working toward completion of your Explore Performance Task for CollegeBoard.
Alternately, have students record their ideas on cards and create an innovations wall.
The list of computing innovations will form the basis for future projects and the Explore PT. Have many good choices helps students feel prepared to make good selections for the major project.

Research more about your selected innovation using the graphic organizer.
Soon you will use this topic for your first major project learning the components of the Explore PT.
