2. What is a Semester?
At the high school, the school year is divided into 2 semesters.
Each semester consists of 3 marking periods.
The first semester begins on the first day of school and ends with the close of the third marking period in January.
The second semester begins with the start of the fourth marking period in January and ends on the last day of school.
You will have one set of classes during the first semester and an entirely new set during the second semester.

The high school schedule is divided into four blocks per day.
Each block consists of two periods
Block 1 - Periods 1 and 2
Block 2 - Periods 3 and 4

9. How do I graduate from High School?
Every high school course you take will go on to your transcript
When you take and pass a class, you earn a credit for that class
In order to earn your high school diploma, you must fulfill all graduation requirements

11. Why are your grades so important?
The grades you earn in your classes have a direct affect on your grade point average (GPA).
Your GPA is an extremely important factor when applying for colleges, scholarships, and employment
The grades you earn will have a direct affect on your opportunities in the future.

12. Latin Honors System
A distinction bestowed upon deserving students at graduation
Students will receive a cord to be worn during the ceremony
The honor will be noted as their name is called allowing the students individualized recognition for their academic achievements

13. Latin Honors System Cum Laude
Meaning “with honor,” cum laude distinction awarded to graduating students earning a weighted GPA of 3.50 – 3.74
Magna Cum Laude
Meaning "with great honor,” magna cum laude distinction awarded to graduating students earning a weighted GPA of 3.75 – 3.99
Summa Cum Laude
Meaning "with highest honor,” summa cum laude distinction awarded to graduating students earning a weighted GPA of 4.0 – higher
