2. Plural Noun Forms Rule #1
Most nouns simply add --s
Paper = papers
Student = students

3. Plural Noun Forms Rule #2
Nouns ending in s, x, z, ch, or, sh, add --es
Church = churches
Hoax = hoaxes

4. Plural Noun Forms Rule #3
Nouns ending in y, drop and add –ies
Proper nouns ending in y, simply add -s
Pony = ponies
Fly = flies
Dewey = Deweys

5. Plural Noun Forms Rule #4
Nouns ending in f or fe can do one of two things:
Simply add –s
Safe = safes
Café = cafes
Change the f to v and add –s or -es
Leaf= leaves
Life= lives

6. Plural Noun Forms Rules #5 and 6
Nouns ending in o preceded by a vowel, add –s
Studio = studios
Presidio= presidios
Nouns ending in o preceded by a consonant, add –es
Embargo = embargoes
Torpedo = torpedoes

Point of view= points of view

Crisis = crises
Words ending in –ex change to –ices
Apex = apices
