2 Nouns A singular form of a noun names just one.
A plural form of a noun names more than one. It usually ends with s or es.

3 Write P if the noun below is plural
Write P if the noun below is plural. Write S if the noun below is singular. P houses baby church tables books bus S S P P S

4 Add es to make nouns plural that end with:
buses x taxes ch benches sh dishes

5 Change the y to i and add -es to make nouns plural that end with a consonant and a y:
lady ladies fry fries

6 Some nouns that end in f or fe change to ves when made plural:
calf calves knife knives

7 Some nouns do not change at all when made plural:
sheep deer

8 Some nouns are irregular words when made plural:
man men goose geese

9 Can you make these nouns plural?
half foot piano spy brush halves feet pianos spies brushes

10 Can you make these nouns plural?
mice memos shelves leaves children mouse memo shelf leaf child

11 Can you make these nouns plural?
thief woman fish photo tooth thieves women fish photos teeth
