3 Introduction The ability to add animation, slide transitions and sounds to a presentation are simply for effect and interest. 4 Navigating in slide show view
The various methods for navigation through a slide show in PowerPoint Scroll Bar Page up and Page Down Arrow Keys Slide Controls on the lower left side during slide show Previewing a presentation in Slide Show view will allow the user to proof the presentation before using it Demonstrate how to use the slide controls to navigate through a presentation and how to use the arrow keys and page up and page down. 11/11/2018 PowerPoint - Lesson 4

5 Setting slide transitions
Movement of an item within the slide, include audio or visual effects applied to objects in a presentation Slide transitions will hold the audience’s interest while the presentation is progressing from one slide to another. Transitions can be applied to one slide or multiple slides Transitions can be applied and edited using the options on the Transitions Ribbon 11/11/2018 PowerPoint - Lesson 4

6 Setting slide transitions
PowerPoint has various transitions that are available. After selecting a transition, chose apply all to apply the transition to all slides in the presentation They are applied to presentations for object entrance, emphasis and exit. Animations or transitions may be applied automatically or on mouse click 11/11/2018

7 Setting slide transitions
To control the speed of slide transitions, you must use commands located on the Animation Ribbon. Demonstrate the following: How to apply slide transitions using the commands in the Transitions to this Slide Group on the Animations Ribbon The various transitions that are available in PowerPoint 2007 How to remove a transition effect from a slide How to apply one transition effect to all slides in a presentation How to control the speed of slide transition using the commands on the Animation Ribbon 11/11/2018 PowerPoint - Lesson 4

8 Animating slides Animating objects on a slide can add interest to the objects and to the presentation as a whole Animation can be applied to placeholders, images, tables, charts, and shapes in a presentation Apply custom animation effect to text using the Animations group on the Animations Ribbon Demonstrate how to apply a custom animation effect to an object using he Animations Group on the Animations Ribbon Demonstrate how to reorder the animation effects. Demonstrate how to remove animation effects from any text or objects in a presentation Custom Animation task pane    The Custom Animation task pane has been renamed the Animation Pane. In PowerPoint 2010, you cannot add animations to objects using the Animation Pane. 9 Animating slides To remove animation from an object, select the object first. Then click the More button in the Animations dialog box. Select “None”. 11/11/2018 PowerPoint - Lesson 4

10 Insert sound clips Sound clips on a slide can add interest to the presentation Sound clips may be inserted from a file, CD audio track, Microsoft Clip Organizer, or a sound may be recorded for the presentation WAV is the most common format of sound files in PowerPoint To insert sound, select Audio from the Insert Ribbon, Media Group. You may insert audio from your local computer, or clip art audio. You may also record audio. 11/11/2018

11 Insert sound clips The sound clip will begin at the location in the presentation that it is inserted. 12 Hiding a slide Hiding a slide will allow the presenter to show only specific slides during a presentation and eliminates the need to delete a slide. To hide a slide, select the slide in the Slides/Outlines Task Pane. Then select Hide Slide. Hide Slide will now be highlighted in orange. To unhide the slide, select the slide again and click it. It should no longer be highlighted. Denotes the slide is hidden 11/11/2018

13 Creating and editing a custom show
Creating a custom show can help the user show only selected slides for a specific audience Creating a custom show will enable the user to give a unique name to the specific show and select specific slides to be used in the slide show. Demonstrate following: How to create a custom slide show using he Custom Slide Show Command on the Slide Show Ribbon How to edit a custom slide show by choosing Edit from Custom Slide Show Command on the Slide Show Ribbon How to remove a slide from a custom show by editing the show using he custom Slide Show Command on the Slide Show Ribbon The Custom Slide Show Command on the Slide Show Ribbon allows you to create and edit a custom slide show 11/11/2018 PowerPoint - Lesson 4
