8 The Big Bike – Heart & Stroke Foundation Fundraiser
The Heart & Stroke Big Bike is a team event geared towards community organizations, companies and groups. The ride is 30 minutes in length and 2 kms of great fun! Teams made up of 29 riders commit to raise a minimum of $50 each. A driver is provided by the Foundation and riders pedal through their community in support of heart disease and stroke research.  Takes place on a pre-determined date in June, July or August. Making a difference to the heart health of Canadians to support life-saving research through fundraising efforts & celebrating the accomplishment as a team by riding the Big Bike .

10 Career Mentoring The Mentoring Partnership program matches new immigrants with mentors who share the same profession. Mentors commit to a total of 24 hours over 4 months. Meetings can be in person, online or over the phone. Mentors help mentees: Understand the Canadian workplace Establish professional networks Identify skills required by the profession Gather information on local industries and employers Identify and seize employment or job training opportunities

Donors are the heart of our blood supply system, the lifeline to hundreds of thousands of Canadians. Without generous and committed donors, there would be no blood system in Canada Take paid time off to donate Approved by your Manager in advance Potential for group clinics on designated dates/times

13 Food Bank Sorts Warehouse Food Sorts (Toronto, Mississauga)
Groups of up to 8 people to help with food sorts. Weekly food sorts for teams of 2-3 volunteers. Warehouse is open Monday to Friday, and the sorts generally last between two and four hours and can be held 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Truck Ride-along Program (Second Harvest, Toronto) Truck volunteers assist drivers in handling food pick-ups from donors, and with food distribution to recipient agencies. A full-fledged “day in the life” of a Second Harvest driver begins at 7:30 a.m. at the office/warehouse, where volunteers start their day, returning to Second Harvest in mid-afternoon. Each truck and driver can accommodate one volunteer. Corporate groups can schedule up to four volunteers per day.
