2 7th Grade Computer Essentials
Students use Microsoft software to better understand how to use their laptops at school and computers at home. Skills include: keyboarding, word processing, Excel (creating charts and graphs), PowerPoint for Presentations, online research and database organization skills. Students develop their knowledge of computer applications through hands on activities, real life projects and assignments that they can relate to and are relevant to being successful in middle school or a work situation This course is ½ credit toward their 24 high school credits if requirements are met.

3 7th Grade Intro to ART Visual arts courses will assist students in developing an appreciation for the visual arts and art techniques. It will engage students in both skills-based and creative exploration and application. Students will have opportunities to work with a variety of media and techniques throughout the semester as well as develop independent project goals and collaborative artmaking skills. Students will also write about and reflect on art and the work that they do in class. In 8th grade students will have the option of taking Art Applications 1 which offers ½ an Art credit toward their high school graduation requirements

4 7th Grade Family and Consumer Sciences
Cooking Kitchen Safety Learn correct names and functions of kitchen utensils Practice proper use of kitchen utensils and appliances Learn the correct way to measure wet and dry ingredients Preparation techniques Cooperative teamwork Time management

5 7th Grade Yearbook Help keep track of Mustang events through the year
Create layouts for middle school clubs and departments Make decisions and edit content in Layouts Be an interviewer and photographer

6 7th Grade Inventions and Innovations
This is a engineering design course where students learn about inventors and inventions and how they have help change our society and our future. Students use an engineering design process to solve hands on engineering problems. This is a writing intensive STEM, lab, career and technical education course that follows International Engineering and Education Association (ITEEA) curriculum.

7 7th Grade Concert Choir There are 5 required evening concerts
There is a uniform requirement Concert Choir will sing a variety of musical styles Concert Choir will use choreography to enhance performances Questions?

8 7th Grade Orchestra Instruments offered: Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass All Students must have one year of experience 5 required evening concerts during the year Uniform requirement Perform a variety of music: Classical, Pop, and Traditional Questions?

9 7th Grade Concert Band Students must have played an instrument in 6th grade Students are expected to have their own instrument. (some of the larger instruments (baritones, tubas,etc.) can be rented from the school for a small fee.) There is a uniform requirement There are 5 required evening concerts Questions?

10 JAZZ BAND Open to all 7th and 8th grade band students
Trumpets, Trombones, Saxophones, Piano, Drum Set, Bass Guitar Required uniforms Auditions the third week of school Meet 7:45 am Tuesday, Thursday

11 DRAMA Open to all 7th and 8th grade Students Semester Class
Required Performance Monologues, Pantomime, Play Writing, Disney Scenes Work on voice projection, confidence in front of people, vocal and facial expression. Questions?
