9 College and Career Readiness

10 Naviance Family Connection The path to college and career readiness begins with self-discovery. NFC’s self-discovery tools let students learn about their strengths and interests, while assessments provide suggestions for how to apply personality traits in school, career and life. Students gain a clear understanding of the academic preparation required to pursue careers that are likely to be fulfilling for them. This insight means that students are more likely to successfully accomplish their post-secondary goals.

11 Naviance for 6 th Graders 6 th grade students begin their journey of self discovery by completing a survey. The survey is a set of questions that asks the student to think about personal, social and academic goals for 6 th grade. At the end of the year, students revisit the survey to see if their goals have been met. Parents are able to log on to the student’s Naviance account to see how he/she answered the survey.
