1 How to Register for Classes
October 2017 The goal of this presentation is to prepare you for the registration process and to inform you of proper procedures and helpful hints.

2 Before registering… Schedule an advisement appointment and get your alternate pin Check for holds on your account Make sure you have a list of the CRNs for the courses you want Before you can register for classes, there are a few things that you must take care of. We will go into further detail about each of these points later on in the presentation.

3 Step 1: Open WP Connect In order to access any information, you must log into WP Connect. If you open up the William Paterson University homepage, you will find a link to WP Connect at the top of the page.

4 Step 2: Open “Students” Tab
After signing in, make sure to select the “Students” tab at the top of the page.

5 Academic Advisement In order to register for classes, you will need a six digit pin number. You must schedule an appointment with your academic advisor in order to obtain your pin number. You can look up your advisor through WP Connect.

6 Academic Advisement This is where you will find the academic advisor that you have been assigned to. All first year honors students except for those majoring in Nursing, Art, and Music are advised by Dr. Dinan. If you haven’t already, you must sign up for an appointment at the Honors Office to meet with Dr. Dinan.

7 View Holds If a hold exists on your record, you will not be permitted to register for classes. Be sure to check ahead of time so that any issues can be handled well in advance.

8 View Holds If there are no holds on your record, this is what the screen will look like.

9 You should do all of that BEFORE
Priority Registration – November 3, a.m. – 9 p.m. Register online

10 Step 3: Add/Drop Classes on Nov. 3
Once you have created your schedule and recorded all of the CRN#’s that you need, you are ready to register!

11 Step 4: Select the Term Date (Spring 2015)
Be sure to select the correct semester.

12 Step 5: Enter Pin Number & click Submit
Here you will enter the pin number that you got from your advisor. Your pin will either begin with 000 or 001.

13 Step 6: Enter CRNs and click Submit

14 Step 7: All of your courses should be listed as **Web Registered**
Here you will enter the CRN numbers at the bottom of the screen, then hit submit. This presentation will be posted on the Honors College Website Curriculum page for future reference.

15 If you get error messages…
Be sure to note what the error is. We can’t help you fix it if you don’t know which error you encountered. for help. If you need a permit for a nonhonors course, the department chair. For example, if it is a math course, the math department chair.
