4 With gratitude towards God and each one of you I present a brief report of the academic year The seed has sprouted We feel its movement Sense its energy Somewhere within The rain fall has reached Her desert has gone Her dryness has disappeared She has flourished and nourished Green leaves, Tricky twigs, deep roots She spreads fragrance everywhere.

5 St. Joseph`s convent English medium school located in a tranquil area blessed with natural beauty at Charummodu , Parayamkulam is a minority educational enterprise established in by the Queen of the Apostles sisters with the motto “lighted to lighten’’. The school is affiliated to the council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi and prepares students for the ICSE and ISC examinations.

6 AIM AND OBJECTIVES The school aims at imparting progressive and quality education with a view of training citizens remarkable for all round development and sincere commitment to God and the country. It inculcates in students a positive inclination towards upholding social and economic justice, dignity of individuals and appreciation of our culture, heritage and concern for environment.

7 Re-Opening:- The academic year commenced on Monday 4th June, with an opening prayer service and blessing of the whole school building by Rev. Fr.Jerome Augustine Forane vicar and parish priest of St. mary`s church charummod.The passing years witnessed the growth of the school and At present we have classes from playschool to+1 in 37 divisions and a total strength of 1431.This year we are presenting the 8th batch of students for the ICSE Board Examination. Wish you God`s blessing my dear children.

8 Our teaching faculty consists of a team of 61 highly talented qualified and experienced staff besides this we have 4 guest lectures and 18 supportive staff.

9 The school is well–equipped with all the facilities instrumental for the holistic development of the student fraternity. Besides the academic subjects, different areas are also taken care of such as Computer training, moral science and General knowledge.

10 To develop and maximize the God given talents of our children and to make them physically strong, mentally alert, spiritually committed and to bring out their God given potentialities we give training in yoga, karate, dance and band.

11 The use of Information Communication Technology in education, has led to a new form of learning called e-learning. The rapid growth in information, which is almost doubling in every two years has changed our classrooms to a global classroom. We have to reengineer the technology and use it intelligently, so that our learners learn faster, master the information at their own pace, and also be creative and critical thinkers. With this intention we have introduced smart classes in every standard. I appreciate and thank all our staff members for their cooperation, sincerity, unity, dedication, readiness and earnestness in all the activities towards the all round development of our students.

12 ICSE and ISC Result The school has chalked up another record year celebrating 100% pass result in ICSE and ISC. Our students performed excellently well in board examinations.A total number of 68 students appeared for the ICSE examination sheikh secured 90% and topped the school.

13 ISC Result Sarath Gopi received the top mark in ISC. The top scores were facilitated in the school assembly with cash awards and mementoes. The subject top scores will be awarded today and the cash awards and mementoes are sponsored by teachers and Parents.

14 P.T.A The P.T.A of the school is an unavoidable fact for promoting the curricular and co-curricular activities. This academic year we have selected the representatives from the class P.T.A. and formulated the, P.T.A. Executive body .Mr. Chandra Babu was elected P.T.A president and Mr.Sreekumar Vice president. Other executive members are: Mr.MuralidharanNair, Mr.Ninan, Mr.Udayan, Mr.Kamaladharan, Dr. Susan and Mrs.Sheeja. We arrange regular PTA meetings soon after every term and mid- term exams. I take this opportunity to thank the PTA president and the executive members for their valuable suggestions and cooperation.

15 Examinations:- Examinations are continuous process for evaluation, Other than the class test 3 term exams 2mid- term exams and for Board Exam students 3 model exams are conducted every year. Answer sheets are carefully assessed and along with report cards it is given directly to the parents during class PTA`s. These open house meetings give an opportunity for parents to interact with teachers to know the performance of their wards. Special classes are conducted for ICSE&ISC students during vacation and in the morning and evening before and after regular classes.

16 HOUSE SYSTEM The entire educational, disciplinary and co-curricular activities are performed in house system. The four houses which are blue, red, green, and yellow are with House Captains and a teacher to guide and encourage. All the competitions and celebrations in this school are done in house wise and this ensures responsibility as well as develops leadership qualities and co-operation in our children.

17 SCHOLARSHIPS:- To create healthy competitive sprit we encourage our students to join different scholarship examinations. The various scholarship examinations conducted during the year are:- 1 .Asia scholarship Examination No of students’ participated-362 Scholarship : 29 Distinction : 110 First Class : 78 These students will be appearing for State level Competition. In LKG UKG , Second rank – Madav Nair J (LKG) bagged State level Rank 2. PCM Scholarship Examination No of students-256 3. Brilliant Scholarship Examination No of students-230 4. Maths talent search examination No of students-72 5. DCL-I Q Scholarship No of students-189 6. Asika hand writing completion No of students -443 We hope fully wait for the result of all these scholarship examinations.

18 DISTRICT LEVEL KARATE Our children participated in the District level Karete, the following students’ bagged medals.Anandhu.S.8.A. 2 gold medals ,Vinaya 3.A.gold medal,Aswin .P.Kumar.8.A gold and silver ,Sachin Shaju 8.A, gold and BronzeBensely Bruno 8.A2silver,Amal.Skumar.6B,Silver and Bronz ,Akil dev 6B 2 bronz,Aswin V. dev 6B.Bronz,Navin M.Nair1V.B Bronz..These children will be taking part in the state level completion.

19 CELEBRATIONS To inculcate values of mutual respect and patriotism and to remind ourselves that we are part of our cultural heritage we join hands during festivals and celebrations.

20 INDEPENDENCE DAY Independence Day was celebrated with usual pomp and show.PTA president Mr. Chandra Babu hoisted the flag and addressed the students. He reminded the students the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters to make India free from the British rule. Sweets were distributed to mark the joy of Independence Day

21 ONAM CELEBRATIONS Onam was celebrated on August 23rd Vallikunnam Ramachadran was the guest of honor. This year we had special pookkalam for the kids.It was interesting to see the little ones carrying lot of flowers and coming enthusiastically. Athapookkalam competition was held among the 4 houses. The green house won the first prizes. Variety entertainments by the students added beauty to the celebration. Different competitions for teachers were also conducted and PTA sponsored the prizes.

23 SPORTS DAY Annual sports meet was conducted on18th&19th 0f September, The meet was inaugurated by Mr. Fayaz S.I. of Noornad .A variety of events were conducted, winners were awarded with medals and certificates. School level foot ball and Basket ball completion were held and Blue house won both the prizes The best sports star boy of the year is Hareesh.V. std .X The best sport star girl is Lincy Maria Emmanual,std X.B both of them will be awarded today. The overall champion ship goes to green house

24 ARTS FESTIVAL This year the arts fest was conducted in October 20th&22nd on 7 stages. It was inaugurated by Idea star singer fames Mr. swarasagar and Mrs. Soorya Reshmi. Various items like, lightmusic, Recitation, Groupsong Speech, singledance, Thirivathira ,Oppana, groupdance, skit, Monoact, mimicry, mappilapattu etc..were held.Gowri Mahendra of std 1X. A was declared Kalathilakam and Amaljith of std V11.A was declared Kalaprathibha of the year.Both them will receive the prizes today.Green house was selected as the best house. Hearty Congratulations to all the winners.

25 TEACHER`S DAY Teacher’s day celebration was indeed a very unique one. PTA and the students greeted the teachers. There was a meaningful prayer service and variety entertainment programmes.

26 CHILDREN`S DAY Nov 14th ,the children`s day celebration was an outstanding one with a colourful rally to charummod depecting the cultural heritage of our country .Different items like school band, chendamelam, flower girls, vallamkali, Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Margamkali,etc..and the two floats related with science and sports added beauty to the rally. In the afternoon there was fancy dress competition and prizes were distributed to all the winners.

27 EXHIBITION This academic year school level science, maths , social studies, supw exhibition cum competition was arranged on25thOctober.The students exhibited variety working models ,still models, charts ,supw items ,project work etc..It was a chance for the young minds to come up with their imaginations and inventions The best in every category was awarded.

28 CHRISTMAS This academic year we had separate Christmas celebration for the kids of our school. On 21st the other students, staff, and PTA celebrated CHRISTMAS with a number of entertainment programes. Messages by different religious leaders, singing of carols, living cribs were the highlights of the celebration.

29 STUDY TOUR Study tours play an important role in the agenda of a school curriculum. Apart from the tension and anxieties of study, children get time for fun and relaxation. The students of std X had a trip to mysore, vayanad and wonderla , students in other classes will have their outing this month itself.

30 SEMINAR The reality of how our children are growing up today is very different from what it used to be,stress,fear,peerpressure, sexual abuse ,classroom violence ,have all taken over the minds of our children. So it is the need of the hour to empower today`s children to effectively deal with such challenges. Keeping this in mind we have arranged classes on Exam preparation , study skills ,group and individual counseling ,and sex education. Fr.Toby Director of Atmamithra kalady and Sr.Benita SRA, helped the children in counseling and studyskills. DR,Nelson a well known educationalist conducted a seminar for teachers and he highlighted the importance of quality teaching, motivation and love for students.

31 This academic year we have also inaugurated a play park,” Children’s world “which is really a dream world for our little kids. Through the effort of the management and PTA we could also obtain a court order for the smooth functioning of the Institution.

32 CONCLUSION Napolean Hill has quoted that “Patience, Persistence, and Perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success.” On this very moment I join my hands and bow my head before God Almighty for his providential care and numerous blessings. I also express my sincere gratitude towards all those who gave their energy to make this academic year a successful one. I also own a debt of gratitude to the management and to my superiors for their timely advice and guidance. My heartfelt thanks to all my parents especially to PTA president and executive members for their support and availability. I am also thankful to all the guests on the Dias and everyone who responded to our invitation We beseech the powerful intercession of St.Joseph our patron for a better prospectus in the years to come. May the Good Lord Bless us .
