3. Classroom Expectations
Students are making a “Selfie” Binder which they will bring to class everyday
Students will turn homework to their class drawer
Students have an “upon arrival” procedure
We often use technology in my class. If your child has a device, please allow them access to their phones (tablet/iPad/laptop), because we do use it for assignments!
If they do not have a device, we will make the information available to them.
They need a scanning app for QR codes to access websites (Quick Resources)!

8th grade TEKS, Exploration beginning 1492 through Reconstruction, 1877
I have a Syllabus Page on my Edlio Website that has a link to the course content. There are many pages for you to peruse for information.

5. Grading Policy
At least 3 major grade and 9 daily grade assignments per 9 week grading period
Late grade penalties: 1 day 15 pts; 2 days 30 pts. 3 days late receive a 0
60% of grade is Major Grades
40% of grade is Daily Grades
Selfie Binder (Interactive Student Notebook) will be used for open-note quizzes & checks
Writing assessment each semester

6. Writing Unit Essay- Writing Assignment
Students will have at least one major-grade writing assignment per semester. In addition, they will have a number of quick-writes and summaries for daily grades in a grading period.
Unit Essay- Writing Assignment
They will be given a prompt in advance, and will be able to use everything in their binders for the unit essay. This is another reason it is important for them to keep their selfie binders organized and up-to-date with assignments. We have a class “time-keeper” who alerts us 2 minutes before the end bell, so they have time to properly place class assignments into their binders.

Edmodo, padlet, etc.: Soon, a permission slip will go home seeking parental permission for every internet account, I plan to use for class instruction.
Bring your own device, BYOD, phones, ipads, tablets, laptops! WE USE THEM!!
Classes have access to Chromebooks on a shared (check-out) basis
