This new selection was created to get a quick access to the daily standard maintenance ( SERVICE ), and it contains all the related procedures it concerns, as per:
Engine oil quality reset, DPF regeneration, Diesel additive refilling procedure, brake pads replacement, brake air bleeding, and so on..

5. UNKNOWN DTC NEWS on UNKNOWN DTCs:
From rel. 5.4 on, a new built-in function was implemented; this to automatically save & store in the Compact Flash all the unknown found DTCs
All the unknown DTCs will be stored in a file called LOG_UNKN.CSV, with all the vehicle’s details included. A technical bullettin will be sen anyway to the dealer’s network to inform them how to manage it properly.
In practice, all you need is just this: BEFORE updating the CF with the latest update, connect the CF to the pc  open the main root (E:\ or depending to your pc)  find the file LOG_UNKN.CSV  make a copy and send it via to:
NB: This is an encrypted file, so don’t try to open or read it, to avoid any corruption of it. It will be decrypted by our sofware development dept by a dedicated application.

Steering angle sensor calibration
To calibrate the sensor in the proper way, respect the correct procedures as per the points below:
Vehicle stopped on a flat surface,
parking brake ON
3) Steering wheel in the exact middle, front wheels aligned
4) Leave steering wheel free – no any load applied on
5) Run now the function
To check for the correct calibration completion, drive the vehicle at 30Km/h (20 Mi/h) and after moving the steering fully left and right, the steering wheel must come back to the middle by itself (+/- 20 degrees).

This funtion permits the inclination sensor calibration, and must be performed each time the sensor or the ECU will be replaced.
This sensor is the basic information for the hill start assyst, to manage properly the brakes while driving off on an incline.

Fuel gauge adaptation : full tank
This function allows the adaptation of the second half of the fuel level gauge scale, in case of full tank but the indicator does not reach the max.
Once started the function, the tool will show the stored value.
By increasing or decreasing the value, the second half of the scale will be adapted ( from ½ to MAX); in this way the first half of scale will stay untouched, while the second half will be re-aligned to the full position.
The default value can be increased/decreased of 16 Ohm, and the reference values are from 112 to 144.

This function allows the adaptation of the fuel tank gauge, moving the indicator range up or down.
Once started the function, the tool will show the stored value.
By increasing or decreasing the value, the entire indicator range will be adapted up or down
The reference values are from 120 to 136.

Through this function it’s possible to modify the algorithm that calculates the fuel consumption.
Once started the function, the tool will show the stored value.
Accepted values are from 85 to 115, so in this way the consumption displayed by dashboard will be more precise.

This procedure can set the duration of synchronization for the radio-controlled clock (in minutes).
The accepted values are from 0 to 50; if «0» is set, for the ECU that means that this type of clock is not installed (or disabled, for some specific market).
N.B.:
The minutes set by this function are in reality how much time the radio receiver module ( RF ) will be powered on.
Usually, the clock synchronisation is daily performed, and once completed the RF power supply will be switched OFF, then ON again only after 24h.

By this function the radio-controlled clock can be « forced» to perform the synchronization, by powering on the RF module.
This can be used in case the component is present but the dashboard does not show the radio signal caption.
Please mind to perform this function outside, or in a place where is sure that the radio signal will be well picked up.
RF module pin-out ( 3 pins ):
- pin 1: signal out to dashboard
- pin 2: ground
- pin 3: +5V power supply

Just follow the messages by the tool during the test: the involved key status will be shown «pressed» or «released» depending to the real status.

Battery Replacement
After having phisically replaced the vehicle battery, the operation must be registered. The following values will be stored:
Actual amount of driven Km/ Mi
Reset of old stored values (charge level, current, voltage, temperature)
Energy management re-initialisation
N.B.: It is mandatory that the new battery will be exactly the same as the old one!
If not, the energy management will not work properly and it will be necessary to reprogram the CAS unit (Car Acces System/EWS immobiliser).

By this function the ECU can be set back to default. Engine must be OFF and ignition ON. Once completed, a message will be shown by the tool.
Obviously, after this, the ECU needs to be configured again.

Through this function the calibration of the sensor can be performed. This must be done each time in case of sensor, hydraulic group or ABS ECU replacing. Just be sure that vehicle is parked in a flat surface before performing the function.

This function must be performed in case of replacing of FFH module (Fuel Fired Heater) , fuel hose or tank. Please check carefully all components to avoid any leakage. The procedure will take 4-5 min approx.

Through this function all the stored values related to the steppers will be cleared and learnt again, driving them on fully open and close.
This must be done each time the ECU or one or more steppers will be replaced.

This test will check some parameters related to the steppers on the four outlet vents; in case of inconsistency between the real and stored values, the message « mechanical check» will be shown, while if the test passed, the procedure will be terminated normally.

- Central Doors locking type, and presence of Rain sensor and speed adaptive windshield wipers, from Network ECU.
To perform this configurations properly, please pay attention and execute all the shown messages.

Sun Sensor Calibration
This function will calibrate the sun sensor sensivity depending to the windshield type.
N.B.: to recognize the type of windshield color, just use a white paper sheet, placing it back to the windshield ( inside the car ) and looking for the color, while the type of filter is visible by looking at the tint strip on the top.
Rear-View mirror sensor calibration
This function allows to calibrate the auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
N.B.: if equipped by this option, the sensor is visible in the middle of the mirror area.

In case of any intervention ( replacing, cleaning, etc. ) on the electronic throttle body, this function must be performed to clear the learnt values from the ECU. This will permit to the ECU a new learning on the throttle related values and a new proper storing, by considering the actual condition.
This function can be usefull also in case of irregularities on the engine or idle problems.
