3 Overview and Introductions
Represent yourself, your family, and the Club every time you play. Consider yourself a Club ambassador every time you step on the field, whether it is for Addison United, your school, Vermont Soccer Association/League, etc. The coach is responsible for managing players during games. The referee is responsible for ensuring that the rules of the game are enforced. Parents are spectators, and they are expected to watch the game and cheer not only for their own child but all of his/her teammates. Measure your son or daughter’s success not by wins and losses, but by performances and progress. We are not in the business of telling the parents of our players how to be parents. We are here to mentor better soccer players and help develop their skills. As parents, you can have a positive effect on your child’s development, BUT you can have a negative one as well (whether intentional or not). Be aware and follow each game & tournament’s rules and guidelines. We expect our players and parents to follow the rules, or you will be asked not to participate.

4 Objectives Our Mission: Our Goals:
Addison United Soccer Club’s mission is to develop the youth of Addison County by attracting and retaining dedicated youth soccer players and their families, who are committed to advancing the player’s skills and achieving personal growth through participation in recreational and competitive soccer. Our Goals: The Club will provide athletic guidance with the hope of achieving a competitive spirit while building a sense of belonging and togetherness within our community and Club. Through affordable recreation and competitive soccer, knowledgeable coaches, and accessibility to further their personal skills, determination, and commitment, we can improve the self-esteem and self-motivation of mentors, coaches, and players to reach the common goal of an overall great soccer experience.

5 Our Philosophy: The Club:
Addison United promotes winning through development: a philosophy that emphasizes individual player skill development as a means to achieving successful game results. Skill development will be fostered by the presence of experienced coaches. Players will be placed on teams matching their commitment/ability to ensure a competitive environment. The Club: The Addison United Soccer Club (AUSC) is a nonprofit organization. Sponsorships, gifts, or donations to the club are tax deductible and promote the health, welfare, and recreation of the general public through the sport of soccer.

14 Support the Clubs success by providing constructive feedback
Parent Expectations This time is theirs and ours. Everything we do is aimed at helping your child develop into the best player and person that they can be. The Club values the opinions of our parents – we accept that a parent may disagree with a coach’s decision. Usually, these moments occur during games. We ask that you respect the coach and Club and schedule a time (a day after the game/decision in question) to meet to address the issue. You can further respect the coach by not coaching from the sidelines, as this confuses players. Please let the coach do the coaching during games. Pay your player/s registration fees on time Keep your player/s GotSoccer profile up to date, and complete all required documents Stay up-to-date with Club info at Try to bring your child on time No parenting from the sidelines Do not approach coaches about your child’s playing time. Be positive on the sidelines Value progress and development, not winning Support the Clubs success by providing constructive feedback
