About Storage Devices
Your computer needs to store information. If you did not have storage devices, than every time you turned the computer off you would erase the programs installed and files created.
There are several types of storage devices including:
floppy disk drive
optical drive
flash drive
hard drive
You are going to want to use your computer to store documents, music, movies, photos, and more! For this reason, you need storage devices. You can select a floppy disk drive (which is almost obsolete due to its limited storage capacity), optical devices such as a CD or DVD drives, flash drive, and a hard drive.

Floppy Disk Drive
A floppy disk drive is used to read and write floppy disks.
A floppy disk does not hold very much information, therefore most computers no longer have this device.
You may want to include a floppy disk drive with your computer if you have old files stored using a floppy disk.
Most new computers do not come with a floppy disk drive. Since a floppy disk drive is an additional cost, you may want to save your money, if you don’t think you will get any use from this storage device.

An optical drive is used to read and write data to a CD or DVD.
An optical drive should have a fast burning speed so that it can create CDs and DVDs quickly.
An optical drive is used to read and write data to a CD or DVD. CDs and DVDs offer a great way to back up data files. As well, you can create movies or a custom music CD using this device. In addition, the optical drive lets you play music and watch movies. This turns your computer into a fun entertainment center!

A flash drive is gaining in popularity because it is small, portable, inexpensive, and has a large storage capacity.
A flash drive is an excellent storage device because it offers lots of storage capacity that is inexpensive.

A hard drive is used to store programs, user settings, and files.
You will want a computer that has a large hard drive especially if storing photos, music, or video files.
It is a good idea to consider the type and amounts of files you intend to store on your computer. Even if you don’t think you need a large hard drive it is a good idea to purchase one that has a high storage capacity. You will be surprised how quickly it becomes full once you start installing programs, storing photos, and downloading music files.

The amount of time it takes the pixels to change color.

Graphics Card
The graphics card is a circuit board or chipset on the motherboard.
Its function is to display an image on the monitor.
The picture quality will be better with a graphics card that has lots of RAM and a fast GPU.
The graphics card has such a strong influence upon the quality of the picture, displayed on the monitor. If you are only using the computer to send , than you do not need a high-quality graphics card. However, if you are using the computer to play games, edit video, digitally alter photos, or graphic design, than you do need a better graphics card.

Sound Card
The sound card is a circuit board or chipset on the motherboard that is in charge of recording and playing sound.
The sound card is called DAC or a digital to analog converter because this device transfers analog signals such as sound waves into digital signals in the form of binary code.
Most people only need a basic sound card, however gamers and musicians may require a multiple channel device.
Most people do not need a high-quality sound card. The standard card that comes with most computer will be sufficient. However, if you are a gamer or musician than you might want to consider purchasing a high-quality sound card.
