If you did not have storage devices, than every time you turned the computer off you would erase the programs installed and files created. There are several types of storage devices including: floppy disk drive optical drive flash drive hard drive You are going to want to use your computer to store documents, music, movies, photos, and more! For this reason, you need storage devices. You can select a floppy disk drive (which is almost obsolete due to its limited storage capacity), optical devices such as a CD or DVD drives, flash drive, and a hard drive. Monitor Attribute Definition Picture Quality Resolution The number of pixels on the display. The higher the resolution the better the quality. Pixel Pitch The distance between pixels. The shorter the distance the better the quality. Contrast Ratio The difference in light intensity between white and black. The higher the contrast ratio, the better the quality. Viewing Angle Maximum angle at which the picture is good quality. The higher the degree, the better the quality. Response Rate The amount of time it takes the pixels to change color. The picture quality will be better with a graphics card that has lots of RAM and a fast GPU. The graphics card has such a strong influence upon the quality of the picture, displayed on the monitor. If you are only using the computer to send , than you do not need a high-quality graphics card. The sound card is called DAC or a digital to analog converter because this device transfers analog signals such as sound waves into digital signals in the form of binary code. Most people only need a basic sound card, however gamers and musicians may require a multiple channel device. Most people do not need a high-quality sound card. The standard card that comes with most computer will be sufficient.
