2 Introduction This presentation will cover how to properly clean and maintain your dry erase boards Proper board cleaning will ensure that the dry erase writing surface of the board is not damaged or scratched 9/21/2018

Daily dry erase board care and maintenance Approved products to use to clean boards Products not to use to clean boards 9/21/2018

4 Daily Maintenance It is very important to properly clean your boards to maintain the writing surface Erase writing on board surface with soft cloth or felt eraser More through cleaning may be required if writing is left on the board for more than 2 days. (See approved cleaners on the next page) Allow markers to dry 5 seconds before erasing. If erased while still damp it may smear or “ghost” 9/21/2018

5 Approved Board Cleaning Products
When the dry erase board surface needs to be thoroughly cleaned due to “GHOSTING” use only approved cleaners: Dry Erase board Cleaner Windex® with ammonia 70% Isopropyl Alcohol Mild soap and water Use of any other products to clean the board surface will void the warranty of the board 9/21/2018

6 Cleaning Products to Avoid
DO NOT use the products listed below to clean your boards: Abrasive cleaners Abrasive pads Paper Towels Disinfectants Organic cleaners (orange, lime) The use of the above products causes erasability issues. 9/21/2018

8 Markers to Avoid Permanent Markers Dry Erase Markers
SHARPIE Pens or other permanent markers Contact you representative before trying to erase permanent marker from your boards Dry Erase Markers EXPO BOLD- RED, BLUE, PURPLE 9/21/2018

9 Damaged Boards Due to Improper Cleaning
On the next page are pictures of boards cleaned with non-approved cleaners or abrasive pads The dry erase surface of the board was damaged and the boards could no longer be used due to eraseability issues 9/21/2018

10 Damaged Boards These boards were damaged with an abrasive pad or abrasive cleaners. The erasibility of the surface was removed. 9/21/2018

11 Damaged Boards These boards show the scratches on the board caused by using abrasive pads and cleaners 9/21/2018

12 Key Points to Remember Use only soft cloth or felt eraser to erase writing on board Do not use abrasive cleaners or pads Use only approved cleaning products to remove “GHOSTING” Do not use permanent markers (Sharpie) Contact your local representative if you have questions about your boards 9/21/2018
