3 Sources of income for schools
Where does our budget come from? Academies receive funding in the same way that maintained (local authority) schools receive theirs Money is allocated by the EFA (Education Funding Agency) We are funded in academic years (September to August)

4 Additional funding What other forms of funding do we get?
We also get pupil premium funding to support students from low income backgrounds and disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as to support students from families with parents in the regular armed forces

5 How is money allocated? What is funding for schools based on?
Schools get their money mainly based on the number of students on roll (how many students are studying at that school/college) The EFA use figures from the census (a check of how many students are in a school) to allocate money We are paid by a general annual grant (GAG) where money is transferred to us on the 1st of each month

6 Spending our budget What are the biggest costs for our school
77% of our budget is spent on staffing 8% of our budget is spent on educational resources The remaining money is spent on catering, premises management (electricity, gas, water costs) and support costs. We also spend around 0.4% of the budget on lands, buildings, furniture and computer software
