Both Windows and MAC systems are supported Do the following BEFORE arriving Operating system updates Antivirus installed and updated Both Windows and MAC will work on campus – recommend a middle of the road system i5 with 8GB RAM or any MAC ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE PROTECTION Get what you pay for - $200 system will not last 4 years Limited 30 minute support Perform OS and antivirus updates prior to coming to campus If someone mentions Chromebook: can only use the web version of Office – no desktop version available Answers.nichols.edu > search for REGISTER or ANTIVIRUS

Other Devices All network devices must be registered for internet access Some devices (such as Roku) must be manually registered by I.T. All network devices, including Kindles, Amazon Echo Dot, Amazon Firestick, smart TVs MUST be registered prior to accessing internet EXCEPTION: Chromecast will NOT work on Nichols network. Gaming Consoles YOU can register it yourself OR I.T. can register it for you BUT may take a FEW DAYS Busiest time of year. Our first priority is to get all laptops registered on network. Office 365 – Web and Desktop Apps FREE to all Nichols students Word, Excel, Mail, PowerPoint, OneNote Desktop version can install on 5 devices FREE – but when you leave Nichols, lose subscription If anyone mentioned Chromebook, they can only use the web version of Office – there is no desktop version for Chromebooks Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Outlook, OneNote Installation Instructions are on answers.nichols.edu as well as on the MOBILE tab of myNichols Can install on anyone’s computers, (friend, family, neighbors).
