9 Benefits of a MOOC MOOCs are built on efficiency of scale, giving access to the teaching of a world class faculty to thousands of students at once.  The lectures, assessments and activities for a course – especially an online course – and the expertise of the faculty behind the content isn’t low-cost and, in many cases, is unique to the Institute.  A MOOC throws open the door of the classroom, allowing him to teach more than just a few dozen students at a time. It shifts conversation and dialogue about the content to a more diverse student population that could be worldwide – a community of learners.

10 Role of Regional Offices/ Chapter Offices in MOOCs, Knowledge Management
Extending Reach and Access to Education: Extending the reach of the institution to a wider audience and improving access to education is the most generally identified goal for offering a MOOC. Ways in which MOOCs are expected to increase access to education include the following: • “broadcasting” to all stake holder i.e. students, members etc. • alleviating infrastructure constraints • providing flexibility in time and place of study for students • providing a low-cost option for students • increasing access to instructors skilled in specialized domains • reusing MOOC materials multiple times • sharing MOOC materials across instructors and campuses

11 developing common courses to offer across institutions
• faculty time savings • reducing the need for facilities • recruitment efficiencies • increasing oral class sizes providing instant feedback to course participants • fine-tuning instructional materials • personalized and adaptive learning • developing data standards and a common platform for data mining

12 Problem Areas for Students:
Communication Skills Faculties are not available in remote areas Updation in study materials Career ahead Website to be easy to understand Oral Coaching Classes for remote areas students Faculty Availability in OCC

13 MOOCs can solve it: Lets design a few good presentations ad classes to develop the communication skills of the students and propagate it through Child Portals. Chapters will further disseminate the information to the students through various other channels. Video presentaions will improve the quality. It will save chapter’s cost. There will no constraint of Infrastructure. Chapters can also introduce both way communication for students so that they can share their feedback. Chapters can introduce Google forms also or similar kind of systems to get feedback.

14 In rural areas, faculties are not available
In rural areas, faculties are not available. By conducting MOOCs, we can resolve this issue. At some places, good faculties are not available/ not interested who can teach at the chapter. MOOCs can also address the issue of faculties in Oral Coaching Classes. Chapters can make video and then propagate further so that students can access it anytime anywhere. Chapter can also put the Video of CAP on child portal for creating awareness.

15 Student Engagement through MOOC

16 Students motivation by engagement:
Chapters should also introduce a few online certificate courses for students based on their level in CS i.e. Foundation, Executive & Professional. It will connect students to the chapter and keep them engage. Engagement will improve the satisfaction.

17 Knowledge Management Knowledge management (KM) is the process of creating, sharing, using and managing the knowledge and information. It refers to a multidisciplinary approach to achieving organisational objectives by making the best use of knowledge.

18 Chapters can make online knowledge pool so that students and other stake holders can be benefitted.
It will increase the performances of the students. Knowledge pool can be accessed by remote areas students also and they will also get updated with the latest happenings in terms of knowledge. MOOCs & Knowledge Management will create awareness and intelligence among the all stake holders. We can also tie up with other organisations for knowledge sharing.
