2 What is ATS2020 Project? ATS2020 is a European Policy Experimentation funded by the European Commission via the Erasmus+ programme. It concerns the pilot implementation of new learning approaches with a view to shaping educational policy The ATS2020 consortium brings together 17 partners and 4 associate partners from 11 European countries in a collaborative research and implementation process, in order for them to work out methods of development and assessment of students’ transversal skills

3 ATS2020 Project … ATS2020 Assessment of Transversal skills:
Proposes a comprehensive learning model to enhance students’ transversal, 21st century skills across diverse EU national curricula. Introduces teachers to new pedagogical approaches and innovative tools for the development and assessment of those skills

5 Objectives To provide students and teachers with an innovative learning model for the development and assessment of students’ transversal skills which will be based on: Students’ age group National Curriculum Innovative and learner-centred learning approaches Supporting tools to facilitate innovative teaching as well as new assessment methods Digital tools and environments based on the utilization of technological solutions (e.g. ePortfolio, Learning Analytics, Social Networks, Assessment Rubrics) To give the opportunity to about 1000 teachers to get acquainted with and implement ATS learning model To contribute with reliable data to the shaping of educational policy on national and European level

8 ePortfolio “ePortfolios are (student-owned) dynamic digital workspaces whereby students can capture their learning, their ideas, access their collections of work, reflect on their learning, share it, set goals, seek feedback and showcase their learning and achievements.” EUfolio project (2014)

9 Transversal Skills By the term transversal skills, ATS2020 project refers to a broad range of basic skills which are deemed highly important for school and academic achievement as well as for performance in the workplace Transversal skills include among others critical thinking, initiative taking, utilization of digital tools, problem solving, collaboration

SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT Is intended to summarise student attainment at a particular time as well as the attainment of the educational goals set. FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT Is intended to evaluate students’ progress towards the attainment of educational goals, by emphasizing needs identification and subsequent modification of teaching (e.g. feedback ) FOR SELF/PEER ASSESSMENT Is intended to provide students with opportunities for personal development, including for the development of new skills OF LEARNING ASSESSMENT AS

Training of teachers of the experimental group about ATS2020 project, its theoretical background and ATS2020 learning tools Raising awareness in participating schools about the ATS2020 project and its aims Creation of students’ accounts to enable access to Mahara and Office365 digital environments Designing and development of lesson plans to support development of the necessary transversal skills among students of the experimental group (for teachers of experimental group) Initial skills evaluation Teachers (Teacher’s pre-questionnaire) Students ( Students’ pre-test) Final skills evaluation Teachers (Teachers’ post-questionnaires) Students (Students’ post-tests) Implementation of learning cycles in school classes (experimental groups) Reflection on implementation and evaluation ( participation in the research component of the project) ATS2020 final conference with the participation of a number of teachers from each country -

16 The role of the school To inform teachers, students, parents and guardians about ATS2020 project and its objectives, emphasizing its importance and potential benefits for students and teachers To put into place all necessary infrastructure and create the appropriate conditions for its implementation To support participating teachers and students To utilize the opportunities that ATS2020 offers in order to provide a more efficient education to its students
