Birds Eye View - a scene shown from high up in the air as a bird might see it
Perspective – representing three-dimensional scenes achieved by creating the illusion of depth and distance
Vantage Point – the place the artist seems to have been standing as he or she
created the work of art
Shape –The outline, edge or flat surface of a form as a circle or a square
Imagination - the action of forming new ideas, images or concepts not present to
the senses

Line - an element of art; a continuous path of a point as it moves across a surface
Color - an element of art: the hue, value and intensity of an object
Movement - the arrangement of the parts of a design to create a sense of motion by using
lines that cause the eye to move over the work
Detail - a distinctive feature of an object or scene which can be seen most clearly close up.
Also, a small part of a work of art, enlarged to show a close-up of its features

Informal balance: asymmetrical where one side differs from the other without destroying harmony
texture: the way an object looks as though it feels, such as rough or smooth
composition: arrangement or design of elements of an artwork to achieve balance,
contrast, rhythm, emphasis and unity
Non objective art: Abstract art that does not represent or depict a person, place or thing in the natural world

Brushstroke - a line, shape or texture created by applying paint to a surface with a paintbrush in a particular way

Value – the lightness or darkness of a color. Grey is a light
value of black
Depth – the apparent distance from front to back or near to far in a work of art. Techniques of perspective are used to create the illusion of depth in a two dimensional painting

Casting - complex process in which the shape is modeled out of clay and a mold is created. Hot liquid metal is poured into the mold to form a sculpture
Modeling - Using a soft material like ceramic clay to create an object
Carving - A block which is carved away
to create a sculpture
Relief - A flat material carved away to reveal figures that look three dimensional, rising above the surface
Constructive - Using found items and piecing them together to construct an object
