2 Tigers Initiating Growth by Experiencing Responsibility
Tiger Point System Tigers Initiating Growth by Experiencing Responsibility * a discipline plan which calls for students to take responsibility for themselves and their actions * enabling students to experience success academically and behaviorally * to make the positive, responsible choices instead of choosing clearly defined consequences

3 POINTS A Point system is used to identify inappropriate classroom behaviors. TIGER points are assigned by teachers, administrators and school staff for violation of school rules. The points may range from depending upon the seriousness of the offense. Points start at zero every third Monday and are maintained on a daily basis. Each time a student acquired 20 or more points within a three week period, a Behavior Referral is given. THE GOAL IS FOR THE STUDENT TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN BEHAVIOR BY MAINTAINING A POINT TOTAL OF ZERO. Students who receive no behavior referrals in a nine weeks period will receive a reward/incentive of some kind. When a student attains a point total of FIFTEEN he will be referred to a school counselor for behavior modification.

4 BEHAVIOR REFERRALS When a student accumulates 20 or more points in three weeks the consequence is a Behavior Referral which is given to the student. The student is responsible for presenting this form to the parent/guardian. A copy of the behavior referral is mailed to the address on file.

5 Consequences for Behavior Referrals
FIRST DISCIPLINARY REFERRAL OFFENSE- Teacher/Student/Parent conference when student reaches 20 points. The student will be suspended from school for 1-3 days or until the conference is held The parent will be contacted by the teacher. If the conference is the same day the student is not counted absent. SECOND - FOURTH REFERRAL OFFENSE Student may be given Administrative Detention, ISS, or OSS depending on the severity of the offense for each 20 points. FIFTH- NINTH REFERRAL Student may be suspended for days. A Parent/ Teacher/ Student/ Administrator conference must be held at the conclusion of the suspension

6 Consequences for Behavior Referrals
TENTH DISCIPLINARY REFERRAL OFFENSE Requires SAP (Student Assistance Program) Committee meeting. This committee is made up of teachers, counselors, administrators, and respected members of the community. The parents and student are invited to this meeting as well, to discuss and make recommendations when the student reaches the 10th referral.
