You MUST attend Monday so we can do a peer workshop. Bring TWO copies of your draft.

14 Essay 1 Interpret and explain KEY claims.
Evaluate evidence and state the type of evidence. Quote claims/evidence when explaining/evaluating it. Address strengths/weaknesses. Address an assumption. Introduction: hook, rhetorical situation, and thesis. Conclusion: we’ll talk about it today. You are not agreeing/disagreeing but analyzing.

19 Conclusions Don’t need to restate too much.
You can “wrap up” in just a few sentences max. Spend the bulk meditating deeply on the topic. Or going “back to the beginning” with your question, fact, personal story, etc. And then “go further” with the topic.

32 Clarification A semi-colon is used to connect two complete sentences. In academic writing, a transition is almost always required after the semi-colon. MASTER HACK – clarification semicolon template. “<first sentence>; that is, <clarification>.”
