2. The Board uses applytoeducation
The Board uses applytoeducation.com exclusively to search teacher applicants.
Candidates are encouraged to register with applytoeducation.com as soon as possible. The Board will start screening candidates for the upcoming school year in early spring.
Only complete applicant portfolios will be processed.

3. A complete “Application Portfolio” consists of:
Curriculum vitae (resume),
Ontario college of teachers certificate of registration and certificate of qualification (faculty of education candidates upon receipt).
Faith reference portfolio including pastors recommendation form (visit our website to download the proper form).
Copies of most recent performance appraisal (qualified teachers) or practice teaching reports (faculty of education candidates)
References, (A minimum of two professional references required)
Copies of undergraduate transcripts from universities/colleges (original not required)

4. The Board will be hiring Occasional Teachers for the school year and will be hiring probationary teachers in specialized subject areas
Interviews for occasional teaching positions will begin in the spring and will continue throughout the summer and school year.
Interviews for French Teaching positions (occasional & probationary) will be scheduled in January and February and then on an as needed basis.

5. Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have to be Catholic to apply? The board is a denominational employer and preference is given to practicing catholic teachers. Non-Catholics are welcome to apply and their hiring will depend on who else applies.
I don’t have a current pastoral reference. What should I do? The Board prefers an up to date reference indicating that you are a practicing Catholic. A reference from your former or ‘home’ priest is acceptable, but not preferable, if a current reference is not available. Please visit our website to download the faith reference portfolio.

6. Is there a deadline for applying
Is there a deadline for applying? There is no deadline however, you are advised to register with applytoeducation.com as soon as you have all of the supporting documents ready.
I don’t have all of the documents required for a complete application portfolio. What should I do? Graduating students will not have their Ontario college of teachers certification yet. A letter from the faculty confirming enrollment in the program is acceptable. Submit all other required documentation as it is received i.e. practicum reports, reference letters.

7. Do I also need to apply to individual schools. No
Do I also need to apply to individual schools? No. The interview and selection process is done centrally through the human resources services department.
Can I supply teach in May and June before I get my certification?
This is only done in emergency situations where there are no certified teachers available to supply teach. This is usually in areas where there is a short supply of certified teachers (i.e. French).
