3. A couple of important points
In French, the possessive adjectives agree in number and gender with what is possessed.
For singular nouns beginning with a vowel, use the masculine form of the possessive adjective even if the possessed item is feminin:
mon amie
You can also use de to indicate possession. De/D’ with a person’s name is used just like ‘s is used in English:
La soeur de Sophie
