4 Uniforms A.I.E. Charter is a mandatory uniform school - this includes sweaters! Monday-Thursday: Formal Uniform Friday: PTO Jean Day and Friday/Field Trip T-Shirt Please refer to the A.I.E. website for further information on school uniform policy and dress code.

5 Morning Procedures All 5th grade students should be dropped off at the picnic tables in the front of the school. Breakfast is from 7:50 – 8:20 Pick up is at 8:20 When students walk into class, they are expected to take our their homework and agenda and begin copying the homework for that day.

6 Absences and Tardiness
Students must be at school on time every day! School begins at 8:35 a.m. Students who are absent must provide a note. Unexcused absences will result in your child receiving a ZERO on graded assignments. Excessive unexcused absences and tardies will be reported. Students who are absent and tardy regularly miss out on valuable instructional time.

8 Math Expectations Homework should be completed daily
Students should be practicing math skills using Reflex Math (green light daily), I-ready (1 lesson per day), and IXL (practice a skill 3 times per week). Students will come to class prepared (many students still missing earbuds).

11 Science Expectation Students should be taking their books/notebooks home and reviewing daily. Science has increased in rigor and the curriculum has put emphasis on the knowledge of Science in a more structured manner. Homework should be copied at the beginning of class. Behavior- 3 strikes (Offense Cards) Rewards- Ticket for end of week coupons and raffles Tests/Quizzes

12 Science FCAT 2.0 This year the students will take the Science FCAT. The focus and objective of this test is to apply the content taught in class. The test is multiple choice and scenario based. The test is complex and requires a lot of critical thinking and application of material learned. Testing will take place at the end of the year around April/May.
