1. This year you will complete Unit 1 (ICT Skills for Business) and Unit 21 (Creating Computer Graphics).
You will gain a OCR Level 2 National First Award in ICT.
This is equivalent to a GCSE qualification:
PASS Grade C
MERIT Grade B
DISTINCTION Grade A

2. File Management
You will need to set up a file management system and maintain this accurately throughout the unit including:
Create named folders and subfolders
Locate, open and save using suitable filenames
Create shortcuts
Password protect
Backup and restore
Delete, copy and move files and folders

3. Download files and information
You will need to use search engines to find out about recent music releases – this will be useful for a later task.

4. Create a spreadsheet
You will need to create a spreadsheet for downloadable tunes.

Print using page setting and then annotate
Add headers and footers

5. Use a database
You will need to use a database to record customer details, target specific customers groups and prepare reports.
Import an existing database into our user area
Add and delete records
Amend and sort records
Produce queries and reports

6. Create Business Documents
You will need to create a number of business documents, such as letters and memos. The letter will explain special offers and the memo will explain changes to the spreadsheet.
Create a professional letter which contains specific information and is free from errors
Spell check the document and make necessary changes
Fully annotate the documents and justify why you chose fonts/sizes/paragraphs/justification/image editing
Produce a flyer to advertise special promotions
Use mailmerge facility from database

7. Create a Newsletter
You will need to create at least a two page newsletter. This will be sent out to all customers to promote the company. This will contain details about company history, special offers, music reviews, images from a variety of sources and your logo.

Spell check the document and make necessary changes
Fully annotate the documents and justify why you chose fonts/sizes/paragraphs/justification/image editing
Include a chart to show how many of your customers live in the three cities

8. Create a Presentation
You will need to create a powerpoint presentation of at least 3 slides. This will help you give a talk to a new colleague at “Downloadable Tunes”
Create a professional powerpoint presentation which contains specific information and is free from errors using slide master
Spell check the document and make necessary changes
Use slide transition and custom animation appropriate for your target audience
Print out in handout form and fully annotate to show sources and speaker notes
