2. College Credit Plus
College Credit Plus allows students in grades to enroll in college courses while enrolled at OLSD and receive both high school and college credit for the courses completed.
No cost to students if they pass the course.

3. College Credit Plus
Students are limited to 30 credits per academic year (minus 3 per each enrolled HS credit).

4. Eligibility Requirements
Students must complete an assessment exam and be determined "eligible" for College Credit Plus (ACT, SAT)
Each college has different exam requirements
Colleges will review students' scores using statewide standards
If a student is not "college level", other conditions may be considered depending on exam scores and if a student has a 3.0 overall GPA or recommendations letter.

5. Sample Eligibility Requirements
Demonstrate college readiness by one of the following measures in each subject area the student plans to enroll:

18 or higher in English AND 22 or higher in Reading OR

20 or higher in Math (22 or higher to qualify for college level math)

6. Admission
Admission does not guarantee availability of courses or seats in a particular class. Students may not be able to enroll in a course for a variety of reasons including:
-A course may not be offered every semester
-A course may not fit into a student’s schedule
-The class may be full
-The class may be restricted to students in a particular major, or to students who have completed required pre-requisite courses

7. What courses can I take?
Courses must be college-level or non- remedial
Courses must be nonreligious
Consult your high school counselor or college advisor for course selection and/or pathway

8. Impact on Grade Point Average & Credit Conversion
CCP courses must receive the equivalent weight as any weighted course within a given content. Since Olentangy’s Advanced Placement courses are on a 5.0 scale, CCP courses will be weighted on a 5.0 scale.

9. Advantages & Risks ADVANTAGES Students gain free college credit.
Students have the opportunity to enroll in classes not available at their high school.
Students have the opportunity to experience a college classroom, including learning about college course differences and college faculty expectations.

10. Advantages & Risks RISKS
College courses may be challenging and require additional time commitment.
Students may find that they have less time to be involved in extracurricular activities and/or after school jobs.
Calendars will likely not match between school and college.
Students will be asked to repay the local school district for the cost of tuition and books if they fail the course or withdraw from a course after the "drop date".

11. Advantages & Risks RISKS Transportation is not provided.
Federal Financial aid may be impacted: Federal guidelines limit the number of courses you may attempt (even if they are taken while in high school) to 150% of the number of credits needed for a degree.
It may have an impact on athletic eligibility.
