1 Puff This is the sweet spot to get people to buy the magazine. This makes it so that a wide range of people will buy this issue because there is a free CD and if you like the artist you will want that CD. Direct gaze They are looking into the camera maybe trying to get the readers attention when they walk past and glace at the magazine and they see this person dressed up. Main image Main image of Patti Smith in a dress. Their facial expression is just them looking right into the camera not smiling this could be because they want to show something serious or maybe they are trying to get a point across. The facial expression on here gets the audiences attention by the person modelling looks like that are not impressed with what's going on but they are still doing it to help get people to buy the magazine. Masthead (Mojo) The first thing we see before we even pick up the magazine. This is easy picked up by readers who walk past because if you know the logo if you walk past and see it you would know straight away what magazine it is. This would mean that the long term readers would be drawn in also new time readers so they could tell what the logo is. Cover line Cover lines Bar code

2 Banner at the top – Give you more information on what's inside or even what the freebie has extra.
Smaller images – The smaller images are there for you to see but also for you to know a little bit more about a certain article. Colour palette – They have used the colour blue for the background and the colour white for the logo and text. Buzz word - Puffs – The puff in this is the free CD that you get when you buy this magazine. Mode of address – Cover line – The main cover line about Patti Smith is in bold because it is the main cover line so this is what the most important thing in this magazine issue is. The second cover lines are less important

3 Target audience Gender – Both but has mainly a male following.
Age – This type of music magazine is aimed at people aged over 30. Demographic – The target audience for MOJO is upper middle class. Who do they represent? – They represent old bands such as rolling stones and vocal groups. Regional and national identities – Well know bands for an old generation but younger people might like the band and this will attract younger readers.

4 Gender - Age – I found this out through research to find out what the age of the majority of reader.
