7 Frequent Questions? Are there audited accounts for water polo? Audited accounts for Swim England they are freely available but do not split the monies per discipline.  All accounting is undertaken by Swim England.  Our volunteer staff do not handle the monies.  Monies are paid directly to Swim England and volunteer’s claim expenses directly. What was the budget for the LEN qualification event in Manchester May 2017? Budget for LEN Junior boys qualification in Manchester  c£60,000 no financial contribution from Swim England or British Swimming.  This is a British Swimming Event What is the budget for the EU Nations event in Manchester Nov 2017? Budget for EU Nations U/21 event in Manchester  c£30,000 no financial contribution from Swim England or British Swimming.   This is a Swim England Event How are the Manchester International events funded and managed? Manchester City Council is the principal funder with limited private monies supporting each event. The events are underwritten by Manchester City Council and a private individual . Management and delivery of the event rests with the Local Organising Committee What was the athlete cost for the World University Games in Taipai? BUCs cost per athlete for WUG c£2300 (Taipai).  Actual cost per athlete c£1000 after Swim England subsidy.  There is no subsidy for Naples in 2019.  All kit except costumes/trunks/hats (Technical kit)  provided by BUCs Is there a budget from British Swimming? British Swimming make no financial contribution to the sport. Are coaches, match officials and the Management Group all volunteers and are they paid for any of their work? Other than the 4 Swim England staff resource all persons within the programmes are volunteer’s.

How are expenses for squad officials paid? All squad workforce expenses are paid out of Swim England funds up to the value of the budget How are domestic training costs budgeted? Domestic training costs for all squads are split as follows:  pool/gym/staff expenses – Swim England Talent Programme funding.  Athlete costs for hotel, travel, subsistence – parents How are overseas camps and events budgeted? Overseas costs for all squads are broadly split as follows 3 x camps events abroad staff expenses paid from Swim England Talent Programme funding .  All athlete costs are from parents.  Additional camps, all cost by parents.  Note it is assumed that camps are in Europe for costing purposes. What is included within the TYR Sponsorship for Water Polo? TYR sponsor GB Through British Swimming and England through SE.  We are only entitled to 2 sets of GBR kit per season; the rest has to be paid for.  This kit was used for the 2 junior campaigns in 2017.  Swim England provide no kit as part of the sponsorship arrangement Why do athletes pay for costumes and trunks? Technical kit is not covered by TYR sponsorship. Can other sponsorship be provided? Sponsorship other than kit can be proposed. Swim England pursuing this as is the WPMG When will the programmes be more visible for training and events? There is a coaches meeting on Saturday night to agree all national squad programmes and therefore identify costs. An International events programme is included later in the presentation.

10 Events Strategy There are several distinct competition structures at international Level: LEN European Juniors/seniors qualification and  finals.  Events fall under British Swimming ownership.  FINA World Championships Juniors/seniors qualification and finals.  Events fall under British Swimming  ownership EU Nations Senior, U/21 and Junior finals.  All events fall under the Swim England ownership World University Games.  Ownership rests with BUCs with entry supported by  British Swimming, entry for 2019 submitted (Naples)
