‘Playing through the 360’ – Centre MF Play This is a 2 hour workshop followed up by 6 hours of work experience practicing what you have learnt. Aim: Coaches to enhance knowledge on how to develop an individual player’s ability to play in central midfield positions. Objectives: Coaches will complete pre-course tasks as described in presentation. Coaches will actively support the performance of individual player during practice. Coaches will conduct a short review of session with their individual player after the session. Coaches will work in pairs to highlight what attributes does a player require to play in MF within grassroots and elite football Coaches will learn about how to set Team – Unit – Individual challenges to encourage decision making and selecting appropriate techniques & skills in game based scenarios. Coaches will review and action plan to support their continuous professional development (CPD)

How to encourage creativity and decision making by using individual – Unit and Team Challenges. The following challenges can be utilised with your players to aid them focusing upon the things that may help them: a. Try to position yourself to face forward before your receive the ball b. Try to recognise when to play passes safe side and when to play them pressure side c. Try to leave the pass playable for the next player d. Try to recognise when and when not to play forward e. Try to spot when to turn towards space f. Try to know what’s around you before you receive the ball g. Try to play one touch when it’s on h. Try to make movements out of your area of the pitch into others areas i. Try to look for passes into the forwards feet
