2 Day One Questions What is religion? (text 92-93)
Why is religion important? What are the five major religions of the world? Where did all of the world’s major religions begin? Who spreads religious ideas throughout the world?

3 Day One Answers Missionaries spread religions around the world.
Religion is an organized system of beliefs and practices, often centered around one or more gods. Religion is important because people’s beliefs and values guide their behaviors. The five major religions are Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, and Islam. The world’s major religions began in Asia. Missionaries spread religions around the world.

4 Day Two Questions Use your text book (R42-R43, R54) to help you find these answers. What does the word monotheism mean? What does the word polytheistic mean? Which word most accurately describes Christianity? 4. Who is the founder of Christianity? 5. How do Christians believe you get to Heaven? 6. What is the sacred text of Christianity?

8 Day Three Answers Covenant (promise) between God and the Jews. It is the history and sacred writings of Jews before the time of Christ. Jesus’ life and teachings (Gospels), as well as letters about how to live a Christian life. He is the Son of God (He is 100% man and 100% God) Catholicism The Pope is the leader of the Catholic church. Catholics believe his decisions on faith and morality are infallible. Infallible means he cannot make a mistake.

10 Day Four Answers 1. Protestant churches rejected the control of the pope and stressed the importance of the Bible, preaching God’s word and having a personal relationship with God. 2. Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran, Episcopalian are some examples of protestant churches in this area.
