2. Masculinity vs. femininity (MAS)
From the scene :
Anna was called “Sir” instead of “Madam” because she was in front of the king of Siam.
Thailand vs. UK :
Siam in the past don’t give women opportunity and priority because they were weak but nowadays Thailand score 34 which is less, women and men are equal, also the indicative a less assertiveness and competitiveness.
In UK They call women “Madam or Miss” to show them respect and nowadays UK score 66 and people in the UK live in order to work and have a clear performance ambition. (Hofstede, G)

3. Uncertainty Avoidance (UAI)
From the scene :
Anna wanted to meet the king to discuss with him about her house and work. However, at this time the king was with some French men, so the helper of Anna told her to come another day to discuss about the things, but Anna didn’t accept that and she went to talk with them immediately, so that made people in the hall shocked.
Thailand vs. UK :
Thailand in the past people don’t risk on anything and they are afraid of their managers and nowadays the society does not readily accept change and is very risk adverse.
UK score 35 and they are able to take risk and know what future will bring to them.

From the scene :
Louis son of Anna made fun of what son of the king said and that made the son of the king get mad. However, Anna was mad about her son so he apologized but the son of king said men never apologize in his country.
Thailand vs. UK :
Siam in the past don’t apologize to women because they are weak nowadays Thailand score 34 which is women and men are equal.
UK score 66, they respect women in the past and nowadays. (Hofstede, G)

5. Power Distance (PDI) From the scene :
Son of the king said that the son of the teacher should sit in somewhere else but not with them.
Thailand vs. UK :
Siam are so strict in the past, the royal family are strong and people must not sit with them also the people must show loyalty and respect for the king or the manager nowadays.
UK score 66, inequalities should be less also people should be treated in some way as equals. (Hofstede, G)

6. Power Distance (PDI) From the scene :
Louis pushed son of the king when he start insulted him about not having father but son of the king said that no one should touch the royal family members.
Thailand vs. UK :
Siam are so strict in the past, the royal family are strong and have power, so people must not touch them also the people must show the king or the manager the respect and the loyalty.
UK score 66, inequalities should be less also people should be treated in some way as equals. (Hofstede, G)

7. Individualism and collectivism (IDV)
From the scene :
The prime minster asked Anna personal questions but Anna get nervous of this questions because she came to teach his son, so the prime minster said its custom to ask personal question to polite for the guest.
Thailand vs. UK :
Thailand score 20, which is highly collectivist country and they are very sensitive not to feel shamed in front of their group.
UK score 89, They are a highly Individualist and private people and they don’t like to share their private life with anyone. (Hofstede, G)

8. High Context vs. Low Context
From the scene :
High context : is there’s no direct eye contact.
Low context : here direct eye contact and communicating with the king.
High context vs. Low context :
In Thailand people have close connections. Most members know what to do and what to think from years of interaction with each other ( High context ).
In UK people tend to have many connections for some reason also cultural behavior and beliefs may need to be spelled out explicitly ( Low context ).
