Love Kindness
Greek word “chrestotes – the ability to treat others in a way they can handle. God is kind towards us.
Ephesians 4:32. “and be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
1 Corinthians 13:4. “Love is patient and kind.”
Kindness is based on the loving heart of the giver, not the loving heart of the recipient.
Kindness and Goodness are closely linked.

Matthew 22:19-21

Example of the (Good) Samaritan. Luke 10:30-35
Jesus is telling this story to answer a lawyer who was testing him. Jesus used this story to explain who is our neighbour, but it is also useful in understanding the principles of kindness.

The Samaritan had no need to stop for the person that he did not know. Kindness should not be conditional on knowing the recipient.
The man could not repay the kindness of the Samaritan. Kindness does not seek a reward nor does it happen with a view to recompense.
The Samaritan gave up his time on his journey. The value of kindness comes more from giving your time than anything else.

8. The kindness cost the Samaritan, in this case two denarii and possibly more. However, the act of kindness was within the resources of the Samaritan.
The Samaritan followed through on his return journey. Kindness creates a connection that makes a place in your heart for the recipient and leaves you wondering about their welfare. (I suggest your heart grows.)
The Samaritan was out of his comfort zone and I believe acting in faith. Kindness is a way of sharing your faith. In some cases actions speak louder than words.

Kindness is a habit you should “put on”.
Kindness is about how you view and treat people and is not measured by the recipient’s worth.
Kindness is an outward action that reaches and touches another person’s heart in an inexplicable way.
