Gustar + the infinitive (verbs from the vocabulary list) Indirect object pronouns *Me (I) *Nos(we) *Te (you familiar) *Le (he, she, you formal) *Les(they, you all) Indirect object pronoun + gusta + infinitive (verbs) Me gusta estudiar. I like to study. No me gusta estudiar. I don’t like to study.

3 ¿Con quién te gusta…? With whom do you like to..
Take the Indirect object + gusta + infinitive phrase and add “con” then put person’s name with whom you like to do each activity with Me gusta estudiar con mi amiga Jane. I like to study with my friend Jane. A Sally le gusta comer con su familia. Sally likes to eat with her family. Indirect object pronoun + gusta + infinitive (verb) + con + person’s name

4 ¿Qué te gusta más? What do you like more?
¿Qué prefieres? What do you prefer? You can use these phrases to express what you prefer. Más que Me gusta cantar más que bailar. I like singing more than dancing. Menos que Me gusta cantar menos que bailar. I like singing less than dancing. Tanto como Me gusta cantar tanto como bailar. I like singing as much as dancing. Yo prefiero Yo prefiero cantar. I prefer to sing (or singing)

6 Me + gusta + infinitive + time period
Examples of when you like to do things Me + gusta + infinitive + time period Me gusta estudiar por la noche. I like to study at night. Me gusta estudiar todos los días. I like to study every day. Me gusta estudiar los domingos. I like to study on Sundays. Me gusta estudiar en el fin de semana. I like to study on the weekend.

7 Use these words to tell why you do/don’t like to do something.

8 (No) Me + gusta + infinitive + porque es + adjective
No me gusta estudiar porque es aburrido. I don’t like to study because it’s boring. Me gusta bailar porque es divertido. I like to dance because it’s fun. Me gusta viajar porque es interesante. I like to travel because it’s interesting.

9 Sentence Practice Rules: You cannot use the same verb more than twice. You must write complete separate sentences for each category. Use your resources not your neighbor! Every slide is taken from a section of your vocabulary list.

10 Write 3 sentences expressing what you like to do.
Write 3 sentences expressing what you don’t like to do. Write 2 sentences expressing what someone else likes to do.

11 Write 2 sentences expressing something you like to do with a certain a person or people.
Write a sentence expressing something you like to do more than something else. Write a sentence expressing something you like to do less than something else.

12 Write 2 sentences expressing what you prefer to do.
Write 3 sentences expressing what you like to do and when. Write 3 sentences expressing something you like to do and why.

13 Turn in your paper today for a grade!
