2 Welcome to EBSCO’s Audiobooks tutorial
Welcome to EBSCO’s Audiobooks tutorial. In this tutorial, we will look at how to search for Audiobooks as well as how to check out and then download them to an Apple or Android device using the EBSCO Audiobooks app.

3 Please note, in order to download Audiobooks, you must have a personal My EBSCOhost folder account. If you do not already have an account, you can create one free of charge by clicking the Sign In link in the top toolbar.

4 The Audiobook Collection screen is accessible by clicking the Audiobooks link in the top toolbar. From the Audiobook Collection screen, you can search Audiobooks by keyword, Browse by Category, View Highlighted Audiobooks, or View Featured Audiobooks. Click the View All links to view a full result list of Latest Added or Featured Audiobooks.

5 Click the Sample button to hear a preview of the Audiobook, or hover your pointer over an image to read a brief description.

6 For this demonstration, we’ll conduct a search from the Audiobook Collection screen. Enter your search terms and click Search.

7 A Result List is displayed
A Result List is displayed. From the Result List, you can hear a sample of an Audiobook by clicking the Sample button. To download the Audiobook to the app, click the Check Out link.

8 If you are not already signed in, sign into My EBSCOhost with your personal user ID and password. Note: If you do not have a user ID and password to check out Audiobooks, please see your institution's administrator to learn how to get one.

9 If the Audiobook you have chosen to download is in use by another patron, and if your library offers Hold capability, you have the opportunity to place a hold on the Audiobook, to download it when it becomes available. Enter your address in the field provided, and click the Place Hold button.

10 Select a checkout period from the drop-down menu and click the Check Out button.

11 Next, you are prompted to download and install the EBSCO Audiobooks App to your Apple or Android device. The Audiobooks app is available for Apple and Android devices from the iTunes and Google Play stores.

12 After installing the app on your device, open the app and log in with the My EBSCOhost user ID and password you used to check out the Audiobook on EBSCOhost. If your library has enabled access with your Library credentials through Single Sign-On, tap the Single Sign-On link to log in.

Your checked out Audiobook titles are displayed on the Library screen. Tap Download to download a title to your device.

14 Tap the cover image to view more detailed information
Tap the cover image to view more detailed information. From this screen, you can choose to Download the title or Play a Sample prior to downloading. Note: The Audiobook running time is displayed above the Download and Sample buttons.

15 After your title has begun to download, tap the Play button to begin listening to the Audiobook

16 From the player screen, tap the menu icon at the top to view the table of contents for the Audiobook. Skip to a section by tapping the chapter title.

17 To remove the Audiobook from your device, tap the Remove button
To remove the Audiobook from your device, tap the Remove button. The Audiobook is removed from the app and is no longer stored on your device.

18 When an Audiobook is added to the folder, it appears in the Audiobooks area. Audiobooks checked out to be downloaded appear in the Checkouts area. If you have placed a Hold on an Audiobook to download when it becomes available, it appears in the Holds area. When your check out of a title ends, it no longer appears in the Checkouts area of your folder.

19 At any time, click the Help link to view the complete online Help system.
