Introduction Bipolar disorder is also associated with the name of manic – depression illness by most of the researchers. In fact, most studies show that the disorder causes the shifts in the moods, the activity levels as well as reducing the daily activity levels of the patients. Besides, the disorder is associated with the four main types of elements, however; most of them are highly related to the above-stated conditions such as the euthamia, mania, hypomania and the subsyndromal (Hilty, Leamon, Lim, Kelly, & Hales, 2006).

continuation Therefore, bipolar disorder is defined as the illness which causes high mood swings, low activity level and high level of depression. Therefore, in this case, the presentation will focus on illustrating the overview of the condition, the symptoms, the treatments as well as the diagnosis.

The Overview of Bipolar Disorder
As noted above, bipolar disorder causes extreme mood changes as well as reducing the level of activity despite producing the high degree of depression. According to (Hilty et al., 2017), the disease has significantly affected the functionality of people concerning the families and the social, economic performance within the region. With this regard, an average of 1% which represents about 3 million populations of American people has the condition associated with the bipolar disorder (Hilty et al., 2017).

Continuation In this case, there are significant similarities in most countries. Therefore, there is a great indication that most people spend a lot of money in treatment and prevention. Also, the studies show the economic depression increased significantly as a result of the condition.

The Diagnosis Hilty et al., (2017) state that due to the nature of cycle associated with bipolar disorder, it may take the random time to identify the condition. In line with the above, the United States and the United Kingdom takes about one year for the identification of the bipolar disorder. In most cases, there are large mild swings to mania which in most cases causes the delay of patients for the treatment. A psychiatrist usually makes the formal diagnosis of the condition. However, the worrying trend is the fact that despite having its greater effects in children, it is hardly diagnosed.

Continuation Besides, the following are some basic symptoms associated with the bipolar disorder (Connolly & Thase, 2011). Problems related to alcoholism Historical facts regarding the bipolar disorder such as manic The risk associated factors in the past such as sexual

The Symptoms According to (Hilty et al., 2017), the disease presents the following symptoms that are easily identified by the psychiatrist mostly in children mainly in rear case and the adult individuals. The increased esteem of the person also known as the grandiosity. The person feels sleepy The person feels to have a flight of ideas which is associated with the external irrelevant stimuli.

Continuation Increased level of goal or objective related activities. Finally, the victim is related to high level of pleasurable activities

The Treatment The treatment of different bipolar phases is presented during the acute illness stage of the condition in the risk face (depression, mania or the mixed state) as illustrated bellow. Treatment of mania episode. It is highly recommended for the parents to detect the early signs of the conditions which are decreased in the level of sleep and increased activity level (Connolly & Thase, 2011). Therefore the patients are advised to reduce the use of coffee which increases the stimuli.

Continuation The episode of depression; the symptoms may include the reduced level of energy as well as the patient having a low mood. Therefore, the psychiatrist would recommend the use of lithium, lamotrigine as well as the valproate. Treatment of patients with mixed episodes. The condition may be hard to manage due to its unpredictability (Connolly & Thase, 2011). However, the psychiatrist may recommend the use of multiple combinations of drugs for the treatment of this bipolar condition.

Conclusions In summary, bipolar disorder is a condition associated with the general activeness of a person which eventually affects both the social and economic behavior of the individual. In fact, most studies indicate that about 1% of the American population experience the same level of bipolar condition when compared to other countries. However, despite the worrying trend especially in children, a psychiatrist can establish symptoms as well as the treatments regarding drug administration and the psychological counseling.
