The amount of quality preparation they do. Sounds simple but they should already be seriously working. There are a host of resources available but if they’re not being used……….

4 Some useful tips DON’T REVISE! PRACTICE!
It’s not about sitting down to read a maths book, or making some pretty notes from an end of chapter summary, that’s not how you revise maths. The best thing to do is to practice maths, by which we mean do questions, lots and lots and lots of questions, hundreds of questions. Do questions on things you’re not good at, work on the edge of your ability. Always, always mark your work when you do questions. If you make a mistake, highlight the question and then use a different coloured pen to redo the question. If you don’t mark your work, what you've done is about as useful as a chocolate teapot. If you haven’t started already, start today, and do some maths every single day. Maths is one of those things you need to practice regularly. If you let up on your maths you will probably go rusty and not do so well.
