1 Step 1 - My Resume Students self-report extracurricular activities, accomplishments, work experience, educational goals, volunteer service, etc. Used to assist teachers and counselors in writing recommendation letters Must be completed before counselor will write recommendations Not shown to college representatives Begin Building Your Resume: Under the About Me tab, select Resume. Add new entries to your resume by selecting a type of entry from the menu below. If you're not sure what information to provide, you can select an entry type and read the tips displayed. Students should include personal goals such as: career goals/major of study, significant life experiences that led to this choice, and any other relevant information that you would want to include in your recommendation.

5 If you already have colleges in “Colleges I’m Thinking About,” then check all colleges listed and click “Move To Application List.” This will move colleges to “Colleges I’m Applying To” Tab.

Know your Colleges’ deadlines Complete Resume in Naviance Verbally ask 2 teachers if he/she would be willing to write a letter of recommendation Request 2 teachers as well as your counselor in Naviance and continually check status Send SAT/ACT scores to colleges and NCAA (We do not send scores to colleges) Monitor the status of your college applications Submit the NAC form in a timely manner to the College Center *Allow for 10 school days for transcripts to be processed Complete college applications through the Common Application /college website *You do not complete the actual application on Naviance

9 Admission Types Early Decision - binding contract between the applicant and college. You may only apply to ONE college as ED because if you are accepted you MUST attend that college or will be held accountable to pay tuition. Also you may not be aware of financial aid offered before applying ED. Early Action - not binding and means the deadline as well as the decision will be made earlier. Priority - deadlines where applicants receive preference for merit and/or financial aid Rolling admission - applications being reviewed continuously and decisions are rendered in 4-6 weeks

10 NCAA STUDENT ATHLETES:
Must complete registration with the Eligibility Center at eligibilitycenter.org. College Center will get a notification from NCAA to send transcripts to them Use the drop down menu on NCAA site and choose Matawan as city in order to locate Old Bridge High School Send SAT/ACT scores to both colleges as well as to the NCAA (NCAA code is 9999) RUTGERS APPLICANTS: Self Report Grades Do not need teacher recommendations or to request a college transcript IMPORTANT DATES: OBHS College Fair – Oct 15th 7-9 p.m. Financial Aid Night – Dec 2nd 7-9 p.m. *Always check Naviance for college visits to OBHS and sign up for a pass
