1 Waking Up to Breakfast In South America

2 South America In South America most people wake up in the morning and eat maize breads, (such as tortillas or arepas), or wheat breads filled with sausage, eggs, peppers, etc. They mostly drink coffee or chocolate drinks such as caffe.

3 Argentina In Argentina espresso coffee, or yerba mate. Croissants, facturas with dulce de leche, filled churros, French bread with jam and butter, grilled sandwiches of ham and cheese known as tostados, and sweet or salted cookies.

4 Brazil In Brazil it is extremely common to eat bread and butter, toasted or not, with coffee… black or milk. It also common that if you don’t drink milk or coffee, you drink orange juice.

5 Chile In Chile their breakfast is very light. It consists of two kinds of bread, “Marraqueta”, and “Hallulla”, and coffee ot tea.

6 Costa Rica In Costa Rica a common breakfast would be pinto beans and rice. Sometimes when pinto beans aren’t available black beans are substituted. Some people may add sour cream and corn tortillas. The preferred beverage is mostly always black coffee with milk.

7 Cuba In Cuba the most popular breakfast beverage is espresso coffee and scalded milk that is sweetened and a pinch of salt is added. Toasted and buttered Cuban bread is often served at breakfast along with pork, beans, and white rice.

8 Colombia In Colombia milk scallions and cheese soups is the most popular breakfast meal.

9 Dominican Republic Here boiled plantains with butter, salami, fried eggs and cheese are extremely common. Hot Chocolate, juice, and café con leche are the common beverages.
