Introduction
A new variable, ReturnLoadPatron, has been added to the PC file: circ.ini.
It enables loading patron information after completing the Return action.

Possible values: Y/N
Y - Supports the new functionality: load patron context after return is done.
N - Default. Maintain the current functionality: return does not load patron context.
Note! This feature refers only to the Return action activated via the Return tab.

Setup
Currently the new parameter does not exist in circ.ini
This is equivalent to working in a pre-version 20 version, or having the following in version 20:
ReturnLoadPatron=N

5. Parameter set to N (or non existent)
Patron Bonaparte, Napoléon has an item on loan and we return it

We can see the patron details in the right pane
Now we click the patron tab …

And we see nothing.
If we want to view additional patron details (such as list of loans) we need to again retrieve the patron

Now we have the new parameter defined with Y in circ.ini

Now the patron is already loaded and we can see all of this details (loans, cash, hold requests, etc.)
There is no need to manually retrieve the patron, as was the case before this development
