7 Useful equipment to have in school everyday
Reading journal/diary PE Kit A bottle of fresh water – it is important to keep hydrated throughout the day and having their water bottle to hand Pencil case containing: pencil, ruler, rubber sharpener, pen license pen, coloured pencil. Please note: the children are responsible for anything they bring into school so nothing too precious; the case must be able to fit in their tray!

8 Homework We will be continuing with the Learning Log style of homework this year. It will include maths activities where we can link them to the topic work. Prodigy maths – internet based software program, with numeracy topics inside the games. Times tables – the children will be bringing home a times table to learn – we will practise every day and have a times table challenge on a Friday.

9 Remember: Learning logs don’t have to be a major production every time. As this approach to homework is less structured and rigid, you should not worry about doing it ‘wrong’… It is good to be flexible! Any talk you have with your child about their learning is positive – talking makes things clearer… Please feel free to write in their logs to let us know how the task went or record a conversation you’ve had even if they haven’t produced something to stick in the book.
