1 Social Media Overview How you present yourself & what you post becomes your brand. Pinning a relevant tweet promotes your brand. Google yourself. Goal is to be on the first two pages. Go to Klout.com Your score will be low. As you use Twitter effectively your score, which is a measure of your influence will rise. A score of 50 or above is good.

2 Social Media Overview Consider creating a Google+ account to create SEO. Have a consistent presence on social media. Try to use a consistent picture on all your channels. Why use Twitter? Easy social media setup compared to LinkedIn, Facebook Don’t need permission to follow Can reach broader audience

3 Twitter Beginner (account set up- including bio & picture)
Have the class post handle on the Meetup site so entire class can follow each other (encourage, but don’t force people to follow each other). Review why to use Twitter-explain terminology (i.e. handles, retweets and hashtags). Create a compelling bio; upload a professional picture. Considering including hashtags in the bio. Practice how to follow someone; have entire class follow companies or people who interest them.

Tweet/Retweet something in the workshop. use #RVACareerExpo, #CPRVA, #RVA. Understand how to use lists. Have people post handle on Meetup. Do not require folks to follow each other. Pull up and follow other Career Prospectors Follow RVACareer Expo registered companies Follow local companies, alumni groups At the end of class, trainer sends out a tweet with all participant handles to follow back as desired.

5 Twitter Next Steps (Twitter 101; Following 50 people; Tweeted 20 times; & Tweet 3 times a week)
Reinforce lessons learned from Twitter 101, including lists. (Subscribe to the RVACareer Expo volunteer & employers’ list Proper use of the handle to tweet. How and when to use direct messages. Pay attention to change in font color. Follow people who follow other Career Prospectors on Twitter.

6 Twitter Intermediate (cont.)
How to thank followers for following you. Twitter etiquette - Thank people for mentioning you. End tweets that mention you with a like. Days of the week - #TBT; #FF How to tweet with photos & graphics. Include mention people on photos & graphics; emoji's.

7 Allow 15-30 minutes to answer class questions.
Twitter Advanced (Twitter 101 & Int; 50 followers; Tweeted 50 times; & Tweet 3x times a week) Allow minutes to answer class questions. Develop your brand. How to research companies and influencers on Twitter; find handles via website. How to retweet articles.

8 Twitter Advanced (cont.)
Appropriate use of hashtags; searching for hashtags. Twitter tools (firewall in library may impacts use of tools). SumAll | Statusbrew | Hootsuite | Communit Twitter chats. Engagement. How to get more followers : How to get beyond following 2K Suggested times to post; suggested frequency.

9 Twitter Chat (Twitter 101 & Understand #s, and tweet 10 times)
Get participants to post Twitter handle on Meetup site. Ask participants to arrive 15 minutes early to the class. Explain the format. There are many Twitter chats. We use #OMCChat to get folks accustomed to a Twitter chat. The chat is at noon on Fridays. Follow participants and chat hosts on Twitter.

Introduction tweet to start - Job seeker in what area. Twitter Chat Host will tweet out questions. Participants respond in the following format: Question 1 (Q1) - respond to Q1 with Answer 1 (A1) Lightning round 1 (LRQ1) - respond LRA1
