Don’t come to class without proper materials! You will be asked to leave!

3. Textbook
We will not be using the textbook everyday… but it is an excellent resource!

4. Create a WeChat Group What is the purpose?
To communicate course info, ask/answer questions, post updates
Rules of WeChat group:
You MUST use English at ALL times!
Change your name to your ENGLISH NAME!
Please respect everyone in the group.
Please use this group to ask math questions. Most likely someone else in the class can help!
The best way to really know that you know is by teaching! This can filter any unknown info.
Do NOT message the teacher after 8:00pm!
When documents are posted once, I will not post again! Get it from someone else if needed!

5. Class Rules and Expectations
Respect everyone in and outside of class!
Hand in your own work
Come to class prepared
If you have to leave to get something, you are LATE!
Be on time! I will lock the door when class starts. Be prepared to explain why you are late.
You can have food. HOWEVER, the room and desks must be clean after each class. If not, food privileges will be removed!
If you have a question, you must ask 3 other people before you ask the teacher.
This eliminates the same questions being asked to the teacher 20 times!
If you miss class, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to finish the work on time (unless arranged with the teacher prior)

6. Grades Unit tests 30% Quizzes 15% Projects & Assignments 20% Labs 15%
Final Exam 20%

7. Daily Self-Evaluations
As soon as you enter the class, pick up a self-evaluation and complete. Answers will be posted on WeChat. Hand into teacher after checked.
Questions are based on the information from the previous class
There will NOT be a self-evaluation on Quiz/Test days
Self-evaluations are NOT worth marks! So… why do we do them?
They are tools to help you get a better understanding before the graded assessment.
That is why it is SO IMPORTANT to do your homework!
I would recommend doing these on your own, as if it was a quiz
This will help you realize what you DON’T know!

8. Weekly Quizzes
There will be a quiz every MONDAY (unless otherwise noted)
These are based on the information from the previous week
These will be graded
No re-quizzes!
