3 Invocation Ritual Transmitting Master recites “invocation”
Transmitting Master read out the “Heavenly Document” Primary Ritualist: Would ask if the new Tao receiver’s name are correct. Transmitting Master burned the “Heavenly Document”

4 The Heavenly Document “Long-Tian Biao”
During burning of the Heavenly Document, the primary ritualist would state the following to the new Tao receiver(s): “This burning document is called “ Long Tian Biao”. As the document is burned up to Heaven, your name is now removed from the cycles of underworld and registered in the Book of Heaven. Please continue to do good deeds, say good words, keep a good heart, and build good merits as to repay our gratitude to the Heaven’s Grace and Holy Teachers’ great virtues”.

5 After the Invocation Ritual
Introducer/Guarantor stand in position Make 3 x sandalwood/incense offering make vows The Tao senior be the representative of offering the 3 x incense sticks Special Note: Introducer cannot be the immediate family members, such as father, sons, uncle, nephews, nieces; nor much younger than the Tao receiver. Guarantor: Senior Tao members

6 Introducer/Guarantor’s vows
“I sincerely kneel down before the lotus throne of the Heavenly Mater. Today, I am willing to be an introducer/guarantor for (the Tao receivers or the name if it’s only 2 persons) to receive the Great Tao, true transmission of the principle of self-nature. If I guide the Tao receivers to any un-righteous place, or cheating money from them, I am willing to be examined by Heaven and all the humans.”

7 Transmitting Three Treasures
New Tao Receiver(s) stand in position ( male first ) Senior be the representative ( stand in position#1 ) Transmitting Master briefs the preciousness of receiving Tao. New Tao member make 3 x incense offering Facilitator will guide the new Tao member on the incense offering Treasure#3: Transmitting Holy Hand Sign Need to wait until Transmitting Master instructed Tao helper needs to explain clearly on the hand sign and how to make bows..

8 Transmitting Three Treasures
New Receiver make the Ten vows Primary Ritualist: Ask new Tao receiver to look at the holy center lamp Treasure#1: Open the Gate of Heavenly Portal Treasure#2: Transmitting Heavenly Password/Mantra Making continuous bows: Thanks to the Heavenly Mater, all buddas, T.M., introducer/guarantor

9 Ten Vows I sincerely kneel down in front of the Lotus Throne of the Heavenly Mater. Now I am welling to receive the Great Tao, true transmission of the principle of self-nature. After receiving the Great Tao, I will: Be sincere and dedicated to Tao, Be truthful in my repentance. (gentlemen) Be truthful in my cultivation, (ladies) If I am deceitful or have any pretentious thoughts, If I retreat from difficulties, If I deceive and renounce the Teachers or Patriarchs, If I am not respectful or despise the Tao seniors, If I do not follow the rules and regulations of Tao, If I disclose the heavenly secrets, If I conceal the message of Tao or do not manifest Tao, If I do not perform according to my ability, (gentlemen) If I do not sincerely and diligently cultivate, (ladies) I am willing to be examined by Heaven and all the humans.

10 After Tao Receiving Class of “The Three Treasures” After the class,
Helper prepares tea and towel for the lecturer. After the class, Make 10 bows to the Ming Ming Shangdi and 5 bows to All Buddhas and Saints Departure ritual Distinguish the three holy lamps. Prepare the following items for the new Tao members: Book(s) Registration card One apple / other fruits ( if there are spares )

11 Remark Ask the Transmitting Master for permission before lighting the lamps. Ask the Transmitting Master for permission before starting the ceremony. Always let the Transmitting Master review the Heavenly Document before the ceremony. For any special cases, please inform Transmitting Master in advance. Please double check the merit fee and make sure total sum is correct. Please pass the merit fee and new Tao receivers’ registration forms to Tao Transmitting Master.

Offer three sticks of incense Offer 1, offer 2, three offers. Three bows. Bow 1, bow 2, three bows. Rise. Zuoyi. Bow. Dismissed.Line up on the sides. Zuoyi to each other. Proceed to kneeling position. Zuoyi, kneel. Three bows. Bow 1, bow 2, three bows. Rise. Zuoyi. Advance to offering position. Zuoyi. The back two persons kneel. Zuoyi.Three bows. Bow 1, bow 2, three bows. Bring. Kneel. Raise to eyebrows. Pass. Raise to eyebrows. Zuoyi. Pass. Raise to eyebrows. Offer. Sincerely make the offerings. Purity above and turbid below. Zuoyi. Bow 1. Bring. Kneel. Raise to eyebrows. Pass. Raise to eyebrows. Zuoyi. Pass. Raise to eyebrows. Offer. Sincerely make the offerings. Lower (or upper) person places in the middle. Zuoyi. Bow 1. Bring. Kneel. Raise to eyebrows. Pass. Raise to eyebrows. Zuoyi. Pass.Raise to eyebrows. Offer. Sincerely make the offerings.[Proceed as such until all offerings are placed.] [The person bringing the offerings kneels.] Zuoyi. Three bows Bow 1, bow 2, three bows. Rise, all zuoyi, retreat to kneeling position. Zuoyi. Kneel. Three bows Bow 1, bow 2, three bows. Rise, zuoyi. Step to the sides. Zuoyi to each other. The Offering Ritual is completed. Bow. Dismissed.
