2 Tournament Dress Code:
Tournaments are a BIG deal!!!! Thus, we need to dress as if we think they are important. What follows is an explanation of what I consider to be proper tournament attire. Use this as your guide when you go shopping for your outfits.

3 Ladies Suits Skirts/Pants The Outfit
Skirts and pants should, again, skim your shape – If the material pulls, it is too tight for competition. Skirts should be knee length or longer and pants should cover the top of your feet but not drag the ground. You are not going to the club. You outfit should be simple, pulled together, and tasteful. In competition, your appearance matters. It is the first impression you make with your judges and your peers. The jacket should skim your shape, not clearly define it. If the button pulls, it is too tight. Buy the full set together as it is difficult to match shades of color later. Suits should be neutral colors

4 Shoes Yes: Low Heels Yes: Neutrals No: Platforms
1”-2” heels will provide a professional look and allow you to stand, walk, and perform safely and comfortably. Shoes should be closed toed (or have a “peep” toe). No sandals. Nude, navy, black, brown, tan, gray: colors that pair with all of your suits. Red, purple, emerald green are all beautiful colors – save them for your prom dresses, not for tournament. I understand that those rockin’ high heels are glamourous – but they can be very dangerous in a tournament atmosphere. You are walking and performing and could get hurt.

5 Quick Check This cheat sheet here will help if you have any questions about dressing appropriately for tournament – and for life. How you present yourself to the world is more important that you think.

6 Gentlemen Tournament attire requirements: Dress shoes/socks, dress shirt w/collar, dress pants, tie. Jackets are optional but encouraged. Professional dress does not have to be boring, however. You may choose to express some personality (within certain boundaries).
