2 READING Hamburgers , Fries, and Ketchup. What is America´s typical meal? The obvious answer is hamburgers with French fries and ketchup. But the foods in America´s favorite meal are not originally from the United States. Hamburgers are originally from Germany. And French fries are actually from Belgium, not from France. Fries are popular all over the world in fast food chains, and they are servedwith hamburgers. Fries with ketchup are a popular combination too.
