1 Basal and peak serum thyrotropin (TSH) concentrations following intravenous administration of 500 μg thyrotropin-releasing factor (TRF) to subjects with PHP. The normal range for basal and peak TSH is shown in the hatched boxes. Most subjects with deficient Gs activity (left) show hyperresponsiveness to TRF, indicative of primary hypothyroidism. With one exception, subjects with PHP and normal Gs activity (right) show normal responses. (From Levine et al.90 Used by permission.)
